Kathy,
As Steve said, just by showing up you have done everything we could ask of you.
You will find most of us socializing with each other during the evenings.
Friday night wine and cheese is just a name. Bring something or nothing. Hot coffee, hot cocoa, hot apple cider (notice the hot theme at times that it is cooler) can really be appreciated. Snack to share awesome. Most of the campers like to be social and make new friends and share ideas on trailers or just about any subject. Tents are more than welcome as we understand that many are interested but haven't purchased or started a build at this time. We all are members in either Tearjerkers or Tears and Tiny Trailers and most are on both forums and this common interest generates alot of talk and bonds us together.
Saturday night is when most of our sharing occurs. Pat will be organizing a pot luck about a month or so before the event. She will try to make sure that not everyone brings chocolate (even though that would be awesome) as some like salads and a main dish. This is the one time that we hope everyone participates. Sure is some great food being made.
You may find that some will have things to share at other times during the weekend. A lot will depend upon how cold, windy or wet it gets. The nicer the weather the more you are going to find people walking around looking at each others trailers and catching up from the last time they saw each other.
From where we are camping you will find a board walk about a 100 yards to our west that goes out into marsh land with lots of birds and other animals. About 200 yards north will be another board walk that follows the lake from on top of some really nice sand dunes. You can walk for along ways. My wife and I usually walk out on the dunes and come back on the beach. Usually see deer on this walk. Some people will go into Sheboygan or other nearby places during the day on Saturday. It's up to you.
Sunday will find people leasurely packing up and many will be on the road by noon.
Past Cooler by the Lake events have found us with snow in the parking lots or 60 plus temperatures. The only time I was miserable was 3 years ago when it was cold, foggy and raining almost all of the time. Many left early that year. At this time of year the lake keeps the temperature 10 degrees cooler than inland which is why we have investigated other locations. Having said that it is hard to beat KA as a place to camp.
