You SOLD a boat?

Postby Kermit » Sun Jan 15, 2012 5:33 pm

I just gave away two woodies to get freedom and room!

I used to want to build a teardrop, but lost my '50 Merc 4-door stock restoration in a "relationship squabble." Life is good.

I don't seem to be able too retire. I try, but can't make it stick. I've been an academic/learner/teacher most of my life, but politics has rendered that an untenable profession, IMHO. Whenever I got burned out I went to woodworking (custom furniture, boats, cabinets), but couldn't make that stick either. Now I build one piece of furniture at a time, on my own schedule.

No offense, but I'm no longer nimble enough for a TD, so a wee canned ham entices. It's still a paper dream, likely waiting until I restore my '55.1 Chevy 3100--or sell it. And the house. Moving closer to kids/grandkids/warmer-drier clime.

If/when I get a round tuit, it'll likely be an aluminum clad standie, harkening to my "traditional" boatbuilding time on the inside. No dang wiring! Kero lighting, bulkhead heater and cobb, ice for refrigeration. I understand that level of technology.

I know I'm likely demented. Fun isn't it?

Oh. Whidby's Isle, Salish Sea, Upper Left Corner. Kermit. I'll go back to lurking now.

Welcome to the board. We have lots of similar people here. You will fit in just fine. Good luck getting things in order. Building trailers can be very good therapy.

welcome aboard, I like you thinking in regards to light and heat, though electric light in some form (battery op led, maybe) appeals, too
