Need a source for fenders

Postby Kermit » Wed Jan 18, 2012 10:26 pm

I couldn't make the search narrow this down, so here I am, new in the neighborhood. I can't imagine no one has asked this before. Chalk it up to vague thread subjects!

I'm looking for trailer fenders--the fat-round ones--that resemble those on my old Chevy pickup. Someone's gotta know!

Thanks! Dave, Debbie & Randy, for the plug ... ...!

Yep, I got fenders ... http://www.lilbear.teardrops.net/parts3.html#fenders ... had a run on them the last couple of months, so we're a few weeks out on production ... finest 'glass you'll find outside of Oshkosh in August (obscure aircraft reference, there, but if you are into airplanes at all, you'll know what I mean ... ;) ...).

Just let me know if I can help you!

CHEERS!

Pete! Yeah, I've been an armchair enthusiast since my father helped found our local EAA Chapter 157 ... but my brother (who builds my fenders for me) lives, eats, & breathes composite airplanes and is a raving fanatic about all the rest! He's been to Oshkosh a few of times (this year helping to promote the new Express), and has worked on several award-winning birds. He was with Stoddard-Hamilton (the Glassair and GlasStar folks) for over 20 years, starting with them when they were still at the Pig Farm outside of Kent, WA. Today he's an independent "Hired Gun" and does research, development, and production of carbon-fiber race-car parts, squeezing my fender orders in when needed. Believe me, I'm very thankful he offered to take over the production of my fenders for me ... I was having a helluva time finding anyone reliable that could produce a decent product, and now I can proudly (and accurately) state that we've got the finest fiberglass fenders on the market!

So, Pete ... have you got a plane?
