I've maybe had gusts that strong on mine. It would need to have some stakes and a rope to anchor it. If it's windy...I don't bother to put it up as I'll hear it flapping at night. Doug

That is why we DON'T use a channel. By using the twist locks, it conforms to the shape of the roof. Here is the thread from a few years ago where Doug shows the twist type studs. Some of the pics aren't in his album anymore, but maybe he will post them later.

Yes, the easy up would provide more room, but we use an easy up over the hatch/galley area when necessary. This awning on the side gives us another place to sit in the shade, and also protects from the weather when having to get up in the middle of the night and it is raining. It also protects our shoes and anything else smaller we want to put under it. When we camp at developed campsites at national parks and such, there usually isn't room for an EZ up off the side, but there is room for this awning. Besides, we just love the look!

I use twist locks on my power boat and a few of them on the side of my teardrop to hold the sides of the side tent. as for the awning rail it is made of alumimum and will conform to the edge of your teardrop. i have an awning rail on my canned ham that is over 10 ft long

mine was about $140 if I remember correctly, it is fairly small. Yes, it is way more than a Walmart knock of EZ up, but is custom made from high quality fabric and should hold up forever. I think it is a very reasonable price. The sunbrella fabric itself goes for @ 17 a yard off the internet, plus trims, thread, and labor, I think it was a great investment, a definite case where you get what you pay for. All together with poles and hardware and fiberglass arch poles and glue for the twist locks, maybe close to $200.

I ordered the width and asked her what was the typical length . I am wondering what you all typically use I just sent the order I am going to be talking to her on the phone when she gets it.

hum, trying to remember. I am thinking maybe 5 feet? It is packed away or I would measure. It think it is about the same as the width of the trailer cause when it blew over the trailer one night it was about the same. I think I got mine 6 by 5.

Can't wait to see it. Are you coming to the Dam?
