Flo's secret hot dog sauce! Flo's is a little addition on a little shack of a house on Route 1 in southern Maine. Now run by Flo's daughter-in-law, serves steamed hot dogs, only open a few hours a day, always a line of customers. There is a website, and you can buy online.

Generally I am not a hot dog person but this thread drove me to explore. I bought several different dogs, made a plate of toppings and wow! We ended up with footlongs with lee Roy's sauce, coleslaw, avacado, tomato, and alittle mustard. I put mayonnaise on the bun and grilled it brown. It was killer. Thank you all.

In my part of the world, all the way means mustard, onions, chili and slaw.

I personally hate steamed buns. Wet bread makes me gag.

Don't hate the red sauce . The dogs need to be slightly blackened on the outside .

They are good with :
- hot sauce and ketchup
or- ketchup and sweet relish
or- yellow mustard , raw onions and sweet relish
or- buy the A&W Whistle Dog

If'n ya like em....why be ashamed? Leave that to the big buck coffee sippers. Guess what, they probably like them too but don't have the guts to admit it.

I am partial to Hebrew national with plain yellow mustard. And a side of fritos.

There is nothing wrong with that approach. You enjoy what you want - store brand or what. have fun doing it.

Take off the jalopenos, and that's a really good Chicago dog!!!!

But, my favorite is a beef frank with yellow mustard on a white hot dog bun. Simple, easy.

'Not overly big on Hot Dogs, but when they are on the 'menu' , the "only" way
to eat them is: Must have a Fresh bakery style bun, coat the dog liberally
with French's yellow mustard, and then pile on diced onion. Then it is ready
to chomp away on.

I'll also admit to liking them in that children's gourmet specialitie of: Beans
& Weiners.

Once I discovered Bratwurst, they are the first choice now, eaten the same
way as the hot dogs.

Yup, I love me a good brat. Also a hot link, and with either of these it's gotta be dressed with mustard and kraut.

I should also add that I will eat mustard on almost anything. As a kid I used to eat mustard sandwiches a lot.

Aha! I did too. My Mom as mortified that the teachers at school would
think she wasn't feeding me properly! Ha!

Sweet onion and mustard sandwiches were also a favorite. It had/has to
be the French's yellow mustard style mustard though. All the other types
of mustard just aren't the same.
