Curtain glide tape source needed

Postby DragonFire » Sun Jan 22, 2012 8:38 pm

I'm looking for the plastic glide tape for my trailer curtains..I can't find this style anywhere online..I bought a strip of it 6 years ago in Antioch, CA for my Aristocrat..I need more for my Grasshopper.

Does anyone know of a source for this style glide tape? I can only find the 'c' shaped glide strips.

Trying to get the last two windows done..

Thanks!!

The glide tape they have is the 'c' shaped one I mentioned...the one I have, and was in both 70's trailers I own (original equipment) is the 'I' shaped one pictured. The photo I posted is of the tape I used from the store in Antioch.

I may have to try to find that store online and see if they are still open and can send me some. The plastic on the original curtains isn't great, but I might be able so salvage enough to get the curtains up. I'd rather have new on the tape as shown.

I don't need a huge amount..I have one tiny side window next to the door and one that runs along the other side..4' probably..so at most I need 2 yards.

Have you checked with places that do marine upholstery, you may also check with airstream dealer, airstream used something similair and vintage airstream restoration is a big market
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

You just gave me an idea. I'll contact the local camper restoration outfit..I've been emailing him a bit about the Towerfest event in Lodi, CA this Aug...and I'll see if he has a source. Thanks for giving me a clue...I bet he has a source..

Besides, I just volunteered to help with the pancake breakfast for the event!

I saw someone that had the I parts that it looked like you could sew on individually, they weren't on a tape... It was through an airstream site.
Good luck!

If you find a link to those, please share it. The would be better than using the old ones.

Still going to try to find the tape again. It worked well for the front curtain for the bubble window!

I'm pretty sure thats what Camp-inn uses. I'm sure they can head you in the right direction.

Hi DF, the little tabs I saw were at 'vintagetrailersupply.com'. Put "curtains" in the search. I'm not sure if they put the specs in enough details for you to tell if they would work. They had a few things that might fit your tracks if the sizes are right.

thanks! I'm going to send the picture off to Vintage Camper Trailers and see if they have something like it...since they are across town. If I can buy 2 yds from them it would be great...And I don't need that much (Unless I want to buy more for future curtains!) :)
