Just searching the net , see a LOT of metal corner brackets ... thinking it would be easy to get a dozen or so and have at it .. Thinking you could overhang the front of the trailer in the same way (longer) if well braced...

Ya’ Know , the more we reinforce/Brace/ bolt/weld/fix this to the trailer box , the more the idea of a removable cabin quickly fades from sight... Bolted and braced as we envision , I can only imagine someone of British descent having the ability to take it apart and re assemble it ...

i have been thinking about this removeable aspect. i can't get it thru my head how to cover with canvas if its alread on the frame. the side rails will prevent that.

It’s covered long before the side reils (see what I mean ? Spell check ) go on ...and they get covered over too ... “the Sock “ All except the Aluminum angle iron that acts as the “runnersâ€

the side reils (hehehe) are already on. if bought pre-assembled. which at this stage i believe that is exactly how it will be.
so the covering will have to be done off frame, then moved onto frame and bolted.

Now you need to readjust a bit on your specs if you take into account the inner width of the trailer is 5' and if you want an inner cabin width of 6' you need to add additional overhang to account for your wall width on each side. So if you build the outer ledges with a sandwich core luan top and base you would give it strength plus lighten over the just plywood option and add more stiffness over the plywood as well just a thought.

What exactly trailer did you buy and I didn't see this new page before I said go to 6' inside as glen mentioned this and I didn't see till after I posted. I'd still strongly suggest using a sandwich method for all the lower floors walls and shelves giving a much much stronger lighter box in the end. If you do that just get the 3/4" dow at lowes or pink corning at home depot with the cheap white wood 1x2 at lowes and tb3 on the 1x2 to luan and I'd recommend getting a quart of 30nf to use on the luan to foam bonding and you'd have a bullet proof lower section and still very light.

A bike rack may fit forward of the box... seems a good place for it rather than lose valuable sleeping /lounging space inside ... Big trailer , Big cabin ... 50sq.ft of floor space seems to be the Magic number !!! Roomy , yet not Too Big ... You know !!
