Read that about 15 minutes ago.
Sounds revolutionary. This was the most exciting part:
"Michigan State's team of engineers hope to have a car-sized 25-kilowatt version of the prototype ready by the end of the year."
Hope it works well and has practical applications that are adopted by major companies. We can hope, right?

Scientist need to get on the ball and get some of these new technologies going because peak oil is close, if it isn't already here. Soon world wide demand for oil will outstrip supply.

I'm not sure how it works but let's hope it not all hype. Simple and efficient.

Cheers,

Gus

I have it on good authority that engineers invented a 150 MPG engine in 1972, but they were kidnapped by big oil and the technology destroyed!

No way!! I ran on water, man!!!

I'll believe it when I see it. Too much money is made by research. I'm convinced if gubment grants ran out, we'd solve cancer, and many other conditions.

Nah, you have it all wrong. The oil companies bought and buried the patents for the 200mpg carburetor. Annnnnnnd, rumor has it that because a diesel burns whatever fuel is injected into the cylinder (so mixture plays no part in the efficiency of combustion) the oil companies bought the patent for the diesel fuel injector that mixes air in with the fuel and doubles the fuel efficiency.

It's all the fault of the greedy oil companies.

I hope the claims for this engine don't get leaked to the oil companies or the engineers and prototypes will "disappear".

Cheers,

Gus

When the world starts to run out of oil. You'll want to live in the country that has the most left. so don't be in a hurry to drill up all of our oil. got to play it smart

theres enough to last all our life time and our kids.

enough to have dollar gas again.

all cars great on gas can't hardly tow a thing or pull them selfs up a hill or

make headway in a wyoming stiff breeze.

my old ford ranger had great gas milage.

but 55 was tops in any wind storm while you were dropped down in 4 th gear tromping on it!!!!!!!!!!!

this shortage of oil is only in the minds of ceraten crooks that are in charge of the goverment.

Hey Slow

The united states peaked in oil production in the early 70ties. We are still producing oil, but it's not enough to meet our demand. The only abundance of oil we have now is the unconventional kind. Thats the kind thats real expensive to produce.

The 200 mpg carburetor patents were stolen by the still alive Elvis in 1980. He used an alien spaceship from Area 51 as a getaway vehicle.

Laugh and poke fun but there are hundreds of patents for 100 + MPG carburators with proven and witnessed trials.

There are a few mixed in here

http://www.rexresearch.com/auto/carbusp.htm

Smokey Yunic 's vapor carb was bought out by big oil.

Pogue and others were bought out as well

Some simply gave up due to threats to their health and the health of their families.

Others simply disappeared or died of mysterious causes like Tom Ogle and Stan Myers. So if you want to get really pissed off just google a few of those names.

Rex Research is a great web site to give you info and insight into just what was kept from the masses thanks to greed and special interest groups.

Tom you are a better builder than me and probably alot smarter but you are wrong about Elvis. He is here with us. I saw his image on the back of a burnt pizza in the late 80's. Elvis lives!
