spring weight

Postby Colemancooler » Thu Jan 26, 2012 4:55 pm

I am building a 5x (9?) Benroy for light off road use , i am buying a 3500lb axle and thought i wanted 1500lb springs, but when i went to buy springs today the man informed me that the rated weight is per spring, I am guessing that my weight will be in the 1,000 to 1,200 range, so am i correct in assuming that a 750lb spring would be adequate giving me a total rated capacity of 1,500lbs, please correct me if I am wrong :?

Even if it is per spring, get the heavier ones.... You can always take a leaf out if they are to stuff....
