I love my teardop, BUT (Demo video pg.2)

I love my tear drop but more that a few times I've got to the campgrounds only to find them full. Finding a remote camp spot was hard to do with the tear drop in tow. So I got me a new toy for those times when I want / or need to camp off road. Its called a Flip Pac.

You can stand up with 7' of head room in the bed of the truck. You sleep in the section that hangs over the cab.

 :applause: I like it! To bad it is still a tent. :( It would be really cool if it had hard sides!

:applause: That's awesome, Big Dan.

This could be the answer for people who want to travel with their teardrop and keep up with a growing family. The folks would have more privacy in the tear and what kid wouldn't enjoy sleeping in a "fort" like that?

I also like the fact that you are higher off the ground and less likely to get critters come crawling in at night. Neat set-up all in all!!

Seeing your set up in the snow, my first thought was Brrrrr! But, if you've got a good sleeping bag, you should be okay. It's nice looking and makes up cleverly.

How much room does the tent take up in the shell when the tent is down and the flip pac is closed and ready for driving?

To about one inch below the black rubber seal you see near the top. This one is not mine but you can see what they look like inside.

you can see how mutch room these things have. In the 4th picture in the first post you can see the fabric hammock that holds the tent above it. It fold half way open and leaves a place to sleep up to a 180# person. Or folds all the way open for the open space. If you want to see how they open and close go to U-Tube and serch for ( Flip Pac) P.S. The whole thing weighs 380.lbs

I like it  I would really think about one if I had a pickup instead of the Explorer.

OH, believe me Slow, I love my explorer. I just really miss that open bed sometimes, when I want to haul something large.

Nope but close. Its the Job core Dykes. North west of the park. West on I-90s southern frontage road then left on public fishing road.

The picture that's not of yours has the sofa and sink and a door. Is that not part of the package? It's just the tent?
