Gold Bond Trio -- Lets do a Contest!

Lanterns, stoves, etc... anything old!

Postby DragonFire » Sat Jan 28, 2012 11:07 pm

by hook or by crook....

Sometimes I wish I had never learned of these things...gold bond, turds...but then, it makes life more interesting. I probably wouldn't be scrubbing jack stands in the bathtub and making horrific messes around the house. I wouldn't have piles of Coleman in the livingroom. I wouldn't have loaded the ebay app on my phone.

But when it all comes together, it's going to be awesome. Maybe not Dougawesome, but still awesome, in it's own 70's kind of way!

I cant seem to get anything in the house! If I could I would make alot more progress. I really should not complain I do have a big space thats all mine but its cold and lonely out there. I will try to get more stuff in the house but it never works. Mary is smarter than me.

The bulk of my museum is upstairs, but in the living room right now I've got 5 stoves, 6 lanterns and a bunch of finished parts for the model 1, in the kitchen 2 stoves. Gotta have 1 in the kitchen for next weeks Coleman challenge cook off item. Crap...I just noticed...1 lantern 1 pocket stove and 2 irons under my computer table. Doug

This looks like another item for a contest!

I'm watching it. That's it. Just eye candy. It will be way too expensive for me, that's for sure!

More than I want to pay. At this moment.

I am guessing the shape it is in, it has been used. Does not show obvious abuse. I would say $75-100

But they are not common so hard to tell unless one has been keeping a data base of sales.

I'm leary of the gold bonds that look so nice. There are a bunch of fakes out there.
The only way I will ever get one is if I find it in the wild.
They just don't get my blood pumping.
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.

This one is a bit beat up, not a restore, unless of course if someone beat up a restored/created one.

But I am not going any higher than $15.

Looks like a fun one to watch. These determined bidders have 5 more days to duke it out.
