Ok it has been a while since I have posted anything and I have not been reading much here either but glad to be back. I think I have gotten all the necessary welding on the "Bean", thank goodness because I have had to hire out that part of the work because I cant weld nor do I have access to welding gear. Because the Bean is more of a restoration/build than a build by itself it is taking a bit of creativity to figure out what needs to be done as well as what order. Thank goodness for this forum because it is a great resource. I checked out the fibered roof patch/stop leak from HD/Henries and found a comparable product at L@#$ for about half the price and used that for the bottom of the tear. Because the tear is already framed and upright this was accomplished by crawling underneath and "schmeering" the goop by hand (heavy kitchen rubber gloves) in every crack and crevice and over the entire underside of the trailer. I had to use this method because the temperature has been a little chilly (60's) for So Cal and I could not roll the gunk where it should go. I did get 2 coats on and that is all it is going to get! Spent a while getting gunk off me and out of my hair That was a few weeks ago. Then I had the brilliant idea to send my check in for the IRG. What am I thinking the tear is not road ready yet. Guess I have my motivation to get it ready now cause I checked the roster and I am on it I will be ok as long as I get it wired for the road even if the interior is not finished. Last week I was down with the flu, nothing got done. Taped off, primed and painted some of the angle iron that will be exposed and primed the interior sheet metal floor today, Yippee. Next step is to install a layer of rigid foam insulation and plywood over the sheet metal floor. Then install the windows. do the electric (may need help cause this just confuses me) and get as much done on the interior as I can. IRG here we come. Progress even if it is baby steps.

As long as it's road-worthy, has the proper lights/license...bring it!! Even if it's not done, it can be a glorified tent until you finish it for next year!

That is my goal to get the lights done, install the windows and at least get the interior floor in. I have 1 inch rigid foam, 3/4 inch plywood and 1/4 inch plywood cut to fit the interior floor. Because the shell of the tear has sheet metal and angle Iron existing floor I thought I would sandwich the insulation between the plywood but I am not sure which thickness of ply to put down first. All the metal has been sealed and primed so the only thing is to figure out which layer of plywood goes down first.
