Happy to hear the good news, Slow. Now perhaps things can get back to somewhat "normal". Lets see, mending fences, hauling hay and checking in on good ol' Dad. Give him our best.

Slow I will add my "glad dad is doing OK" to the list.
My brother (72) was in the hospital just last week he too needs a stint.
he had heart bypass surgery years ago heart problems run in my family
grand parents mother dad brothers all suffer or did suffer.

things to do at a gathering.
early arrivals meet and greet
campfire each night need lots of wood.
pot luck one night
leftovers one night
good ol' hot dog roast.
tour of the teardrops
tech talk or a how to do session
things like how do I figure tongue weight, how do I tell how old my tires are,
how to seal a leaking area, correct way to attach safety chains, how does my electric work, installing water tank.
there will be a lot of knowledgeable people show up you may have a sign up sheet asking if they would be willing to speak or teach.
some will some won't
form A big circle of chairs ask if someone has a question others will be more likely to join in rather than get up and speak.
make a list of things to see and do in the area attach it to the sign in sheet.
women like to do craft type of things ask some will have an idea what to do.
again glad your Dad is doing better God does good work.

Slow, good beans your dad is doing better. My dad has had two heart surgeries, some stints, some balloon procedures and who knows what all. He will be 87 next month.

You don't really need to do much for your gathering other than calling it and showing up. Things will take care of themselves. If the fire season permits some fire wood is nice. I usually show up with some when I go to them. Maybe grab some of the tourist propaganda but I wouldn't worry about having very much.

I have not yet been able to get Burning Man tickets. If I don't then I will be more likely to be able to go to your gathering.
