Speakers in a Teardrop?

Postby rappar » Thu Feb 09, 2012 7:31 pm

I have a large music collection on my iPod. I have been wondering about adding speakers or a sound bar to the TV to improve sound. Is this over kill in a teardrop or something I should consider?
If you have added a set of speakers or sound bar to your teardrop, what did you add?
Thanks
Ron

You mean something like this? Four 6", 3 stage speakers. When turned up the whole trailer shakes. ;)

I have a conventional auto stereo with a Sirius receiver as well as a 19" flat screen, they are however at opposite ends of the trailer and not connected. There is a receptical for ipod etc.

If I ever get around to actually building a teardrop, I'd have to have a stereo with at least two decent speakers. I'd mount them in the kitchen since I'd be outside the thing most of the time....

I just us a docking station, we really don't rock out, mellow is fine with us, and with the station, we put it on the picnic table and have music with dinner. None of the campers near us have ever complained,

I am getting up on the soap box!
One of the reasons we like having solid well insulated walls is so we do not have to listen to other folks portable noise. Speakers are only on the inside of Compass Rose and my feeling is that on the few occasions when we do listen to music if some one else out side can hear what we are listening to, it is too loud.
My personal feeling is that some folks just can not stand silence

I have a marine radio with CD and Ipod interface in the center cabinet. Below it is a blu-ray player (not shown). In the drawer below the center cabinet is a 19" HD LCD TV that pulls out and flips up.

The audio all runs through the marine radio. There are two 5-1/2" 3-way speakers inset into the bottom of the interior overhead cabinets and two 6-1/2" speakers in the upper galley cabinets.

Tom How do you like that unit? I was actually just looking at it the other day. Do you have the wired remote for it too?

Zach,

I like the radio quite well. The built in amp is more than powerful enough by itself. the different EQ modes work well. Although I didn't think I'd use the remote, I use it quite often.

And...in keeping with your multi-color LEDs, you can change the color of the screen backlighting.

Take care,
Tom

We recently got a Bose SoundDock 10 to play our music, for ourselves. It is portable to have inside when we want it there or move it to the galley. We love it, great sound and music of our liking. We do silence just fine but we also do music quite well and respectively quiet, just for us. Enjoy whatever device you pick.

Bob
I was thinking more of Chain O Lakes the screaming kids, barking dogs, and killer inversion layer with smog  far worse than LA ever was and every fool that had a fire smoldering all day and night. And all this and the individual with the BOOM BOX next to us blaring country western, I lost my girl, I lost my dog, I lost my truck, that purity much sums up CW :?
