Nice
Is that based on ADC's Recycled Recumbent plans?

Bents

Postby GuitarPhotog » Wed Feb 09, 2011 2:13 am

It's nice to see some bent riders hanging about here too.

I ride a Haluzak Hybrid Race - a short wheelbase, USS bike with a 700 rear wheel and a 451 front. It and I have many thousands of miles together.

I just got a teardrop and need to figure out how to carry the 'Zak with it.

ebutler, that's a nice looking recumbent. A question though, isn't the "tiller effect" of that headset angle and long handle bars difficult to adjust to?

I rode an ASS bike for a while (a 1st generation Trek recumbent) and had a serious problem with the tiller effect. USS and linkage coupled steering solved all that for me.

No it wasn't, I built the bike from Gardner Martins plans (the Toureasy guy) and it felt completely natural from the first ride. I built one for a friend and he wanted a universal joint and a shaft in a bearing with the bars on the end, absolutely no tiller effect. It was unrideable. The first recumbent that I rode was a Linear with uss and I had to work at it to be able to ride. Once I became used to it it was ok but I never did like it.
