New guy from NH

Hello everyone...

First off I'd like to say what a great site this is! After much reading I've started my first build and I'm loving it. It's a modified Cubby with wood sides 54" X 8' built on a old pop up frame i got for free. So far so good and I'm slowly working through my issues and question from the posts on here. I do have one big issue though.... I can't seem to find any place to get aluminum skin wider than 48". I've got a few more calls to make locally but so far no one has it. Even online I can't seem to find anything???? If anyone has any info please let me know and thanks!!!

Tomorrow I'm ordering my windows and door hardware and also T molding, can't wait to get it.

Here's a link to build so far

Dan -

I got mine from American Steel and Aluminum in Auburn MA (just off route 20). They have a pile of 5x10ft. blanks of .040 sheet aluminium left over from some other job they'll sell you.

Jon,

Thank you!!! I called and they still have it, going down Tuesday to get it. Do you think it'll roll up ok?? I've got a Honda Element I can take the seats out of the back and put it in. The price was much less than I thought it would be.

Now I need to order all my hardware and I can take it apart and move it to the shed.

I don't know if it will roll. I got it from them on a pallet. They may be able to roll & band it for you but it will be difficult to make it flat afterwards.

If you know what size pieces you need they'll cut it for you, I think for no charge.

of course you can roll 40 mill aluminum , i had to roll 2 sheets and put in my convertible with the top down one day because my pickup was not running, and remember aluminum comes in large rolls from the factory anyway
