I'd like to convert a Maglite from incandescent into LED?

Which teralux bulb did you get?

Joey, it was the TLE-6EXB.........I think, all the packaging is gone. I bought it through Amazon and I have a 2-cel Mag.

no mention of lumens though.

The TLE-6EXB is 140 lumens. Not much in todays world of 500-1000 lumen flashlights. I do have one 2x C cell Maglite it would work in

I also have this OEM flashlight but don't know what the lumens is on that either.

....keep in mind, the flashlite I linked to was found while, I was doing research for some specific features I wanted...in other words, it fits my needs well...the site, I linked to has a zillion diff lites...the "Fenix" brand is a well thought of brand as are most of the UltraFire and TrustFire lites...CREE seems to have some of the better emitters so, look around, read the spec and the reviews and find what seems like it would work for you.....................

Mike, these are the batts I am using...and they are rechargeable and protected...ALWAYS use protected Li-Ion batts, otherwise they can can "blowup" on ya...

...as far as the lumens go, in one spot they state 90 lumens...having used led flashlites for a few years, I can confirm the lite is brighter than that and is the brightest flashlite I have ever used....

For what it's worth.. I just bought the MagLite brand LED from Amazon and it is REALLY good. I don't remember it stating that is was 104 lumens, but it seems like much more. I can light up the entire house 4 doors down, that's more than 100 yards. The difference between the standard 3D MagLite and the LED is VERY noticable. I have a couple 3 AA LED lights that are great for work and around camp, but for long distance, this is the best I've used/seen so far (not a conasour). Well worth the price if you need a new one. Also, the 3D cells should give you a pretty long run time with the longer LED.

Mike you did the right thing,I have the large light like mj, it is so bright white.as for your mag light sell it in your next garage sell. mag light is like snapon old school and over priced.

I hate large bulky flash lights, I carry a flashlight on my belt for work, after trying a killing the new maglite 2AA LED twice I gave up an tried a bunch of others, I ended up back with the new series of maglites though, http://www.amazon.com/MAGLITE-XL50-S301 ... 147&sr=8-3 as they are small and very bright, I don't like anything with the lithium batteries as they are harder to find and usually more expensive. (and my employer stocks AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V batts for us to use) after about a year of use I rate these new maglite XL series as the best for me.
If you get one though don't buy the cheap holster they sell, it will break pretty easy, I bought a magazine/shell pouch with a velcro flap that works much better .
For camping and boating, we all use those cheap 3 LED headlamps, nothing beats having both hands free to do whatever.

My Ultra Fires arrived yesterday. The batteries have not arrived yet, so I have no clue how bright they are...

But here are the new flashlights, with one of my old 2AA led maglites shoved in there for a size comparison.



Now I am just waiting on the 18650 rechargeable batteries. I was just told at work today, that I need to buy a special Li-Ion battery charger.
