Eagle I thought you were going to do the Happy Camper picture. so is this one going to be Disnet themed as well or is it Mickey themed cause if its the later you could do the nose instead of the ears as a 3demensional and just paint the eary as for the shorts I think they would make an interesting tongue box and you could do the gloved hands as door handles...ok now its time for coffee my head hurts...

droid, the happy camper was turned into a banner that i will hang when at site. :D

pete, yes i ended up at lowes. the trailers were the same as tractor suppy but they were cheaper in cost, plus i got the 10% military discount. so i saved a couple of bucks there. so did you see what i was talking about? those boards are wedged into a box frame. and thanks, the pup was out playing with the basketball this morning. he is getting mad at me because i won't let him do too much. i am keeping him on the leash and making him lay down and sleep. he will not get to those staples til they get removed! i would freak out if something were to bust open. :frightened:

Any news/ideas on Foamie trailers ? We’ve covered most everything else ...

I just checked , it’s been since May of last year since the Foamie was covered and painted ... pretty much remaining outside all the time ... as yet , everything seems the same ... save some leaves and a little bird poop... How long do I need to leave it outside to see (prove) if it will last ...5 years ? 20 years ? 50 years ? I think now this trailer will outlast me ... save any Bears or frozen Turkeys... :R

Glen things you don't use don't tend to ever wear out.......it was a baseball field "if you build it they will come" but on a camper "if you use it, then it might break"

Well, that’s Good News eh !! Won’t have to worry about mine .... sitting in the driveway ... Steve , just waiting (NOT) for another hurricane is all (It’s Primary intent to provide a cheap/private shelter in somebody else’s driveway or backyard during EVAC ) .. or if I sell it ...

Just came back from a short and rather expensive semi-annual trip to the Vet . Dog OK , Wallet Empty !!!

yup, i know the feeling about the vets! i should be good to go now though for the next year. puppy shots are all done. i just have to take him back in 2 weeks to remove the staples. i can't wait til i get him off the puppy food and eating the dog food. a small bag of this pup food is about the same price as my big bags of adult food.

this is what I've been feeding my dogs you want to talk about pricey 80 bucks a bag and that lasts them 2 weeks but I believe you get what you but into them I also look at my food bill every month its a lot higher..don't get me wrong these two dogs of mine may think they have a free ride now but they will help earn their keep. We are doing search and rescue training as well as cart training just to name a few things :? :? :? but when the cheque is in the bank  ..hope everyone else 's pets are doing good :worship:

I believe you're right about the potential longevity. As you have previously mentioned, the upper surfaces of many boats, basically canvas with a (spar) varnish finish, have lasted for decades with only minimal care...And that's often in a salt water environment and not forgetting a five-axis range of movement.

Years ago, in the mid 1960's, I knew a chap who restored an old 1935-ish Chris Craft inboard (wouldn't I like to have it now). He had the devil's own time getting the canvas removed from the front cowling/deck cover and, apparently, all that held it on was the varnish. He scraped and sanded and grunted and groaned, and it was only one layer thick (the boat had been cared for reasonably well and while not stored indoors, it remained under cover most of its life).

With decent care (don't haul it like you stole it) these canvas/bed sheet, t-shirt-covered foamies ought to last a good long while. At least as long as most people would care to pull the same rig. Like most things, longevity is essentially assured if used within design limits and purpose (i.e. stay away from frozen turkey launching test sites and don't camp in bear country) and properly maintained (mostly the trailer, eh?).
