Ok, I feel birds, but I'm over run with tree rats( squrrel they run the birds out of the feeders and eat everything. I don't want to kill them , thinking of traping them and take them to city park.. ???

Good luck with that . If you have squirrels near where you live & re-locate 'em, they'll just be back or others will move in. Only successful way I found to keep 'em outta my bird feeders was put the feeders on a 6' tall (at least), 2" steel post. I then removed the feeders & put a 4" PVC sleeve (very lightweight PVC will do fine) over the steel post (full length) & reinstalled the feeder. You probably don't need to but I used Armor All on the PVC. I bought the green 'sewer' pipe from the local plumbing supply 'cause my wife didn't like white . Got a lot of entertainment watching the squirrels try to climb that super slippery PVC. One thing, you hafta put the posts/feeders at least 15' away from any tree or large bush. Gray squirrels can jump that far sideways & they're ingenious at finding a way to get to food...

Squirrels were causing havoc with our bird feeders too do we now just scatter feed on the ground. The squirrels still come around but don't last long because it is too much work for them to get the seed off the ground.

Thw wife maintains from 5 to 10 feeders at different times of the year.
We dont seem to have a tree rat problem here, they seem to have
some sort of desease. The vet said some sort of lead poisoning

I'd be careful. It sounds like you have a serious problem with lead pollution around your house. Perhaps you ought to contact the EPA and see if you qualify as a "Superfund Site" and summa dat Obuma money.

only thing we found is feeding thistle. Squirrels don't eat it and most small birds love it. Grackles don't eat it either.
Squirrels aren't supposed to like safflower but around here they didn't read that book. However I have noticed they eat less of it than other seed.

You could try one of theses as the squirrels weight gets on the top it shuts the feeder down .

Back in the summer of 2005, I trapped and relocated 87 squirrels. That kept the population down for about 4 years. Then I trapped 10. Last summer I trapped 30. I think if I do about 15 per year, it will be okay. I also found the "squirrel" size trap was too small. They would streeeeeetch out to keep the door open while they grabbed the bait(pecans). Use the racoon size.

Be careful about releasing into a city park. There may be regulations on that. Or someone may see you and just make life difficult.

The best solution overall is to stop the seed supply. I have gone to suet. All birds love it. But you have to get the hot pepper suet to keep the squirrels off it.

Now, does anyone know how to eradicate European Starlings?

Where I come from ground squirrels are treated as an aggressive enemy combatant. Any movement is considered a hostile threat to ones life and liberty. We generally respond with light or heavy arms.

Tree squirrels are treated differently. Lemon pepper and garlic, sometimes a little soy.

I had a retired racing Greyhound that took care of the squirrel population for the 4 1/2 years I had her. After I lost her, it took about 3 years for the population to get bad enough again to start live trapping them. Now, I take them at least 5 miles away, but I have two neighbors who take them 1/2 mile away. I've offered them orange spray paint so we can see how soon they come back

I will tell you we no longer have any rabbits or chipmunks in the neighborhood since a pair of red foxes took up residence somewhere here. Now, I just wish they would take a liking to squirrel
