There is still another issue with pictures.

If you are not logged in, you can't see the pictures.

Don't know if this change is intentional or not?

If not (for the admins):

Go into Manage Users
select the Anonymous user
Select the Preferences page in the upper-right dropdown
set "Display images within posts" to Yes.

Historically it was set up that way to encourage users to register. I may try it both ways and see which way makes more sense...

personally, i don't think unregistered folks should beable to see the pics. but that is just me.

When I'm not logged in, on some threads I can see pics and on others I can't see them. Whats up with that??

Once you are logged in you can see the pictures from the gallery, which is the majority of the photos here.

I can see all the pics now logged in or not. When I'm not logged in the pics have this on them, phpbb gallery by nickvergessen.

Most forums that require you to log in to see pictures have a link to the pic that takes you to a page to login/register.

However if you are not logged in here (or new to the forum) it just appears broken across the board with a bunch of broken links because all you see is a box with a red "X". I'm not sure that encourages people to login or register because like I said it just appears that the forum is broken/not well maintained.

Yes, I am experimenting. I might leave pictures visible, and just come up with a watermark, similar to the watermark that you saw.
