Oilcanning ?

Ok, so I'm building in the cold and an expected issue cropped up today
I fully expected some oil canning when it got warmer.
Sun was out today and the side heated up and EEEK!!!
Not sure if you can see it between the two pics
First cold after I installed and second, camera wasn't pointed there but quite a bit of oilcanning





I know I'm not going to be able to do anything about it while the weather is still cold, but when it gets warm if I pull the front corner and trim the aluminum back and reinstall the trim, will that help the situation?

Yes. But you only need to trim off about (but no more than) 1/8". That should do it. To think that everyone laught at me when I told them that my skins are over trimmed and are floaters. I've never had a canning issue although I can see skuff marks along the edge where the skin expands up into the edge molding.

Thanks, funny you mention that though.
Used to work for a Glendale Titanium fifth wheel dealer, they had a one pice fiberglass tail cone, the whole back of the trailer, that was held on by edge trim, not one screw held that tailcone on, and those tailcones were heavy i dont believe any screws penetrated their huge overhange nosecones either
