Progress AND pics!

After reading all the posts on this forum the past weeks (and adding a couple of my own questions) I have been antsy to work on my trailer and see some progress of my own. Everyone else seems to be working on their trialers. So, I went and bought some Baltic Birch plys last Friday and spent most of Saturday cuting out the side profiles (walls) and the window cutouts.

Here's the sides attached temporarily to the floor and frame.


And here is the sides with a temp top and my rack I built set on top.


Here are the placement of the windows. They were bought from a truck topper shop locally. Pretty inexpensive, too.


Lots of room!

Next I get to build the laminated sides and cut out the door. So as it stops snowing here and it ewarms up a bit more. Too cold out in the garage to glue anything up. But I am progressing! Thanks for all the info here on the forum. Everyone is so helpful.

That really is a nice design! Nice and roomy, and not boxy-looking at ALL. Those lines really work WELL with that--and the windows just add to it.

Yes, I thought it might be too boxy looking but it has turned out ok. I had the windows before I had the design tied down. The slope of the windows determined the shape. I know it is not curved as a tear should but I wanted an easier rear hatch design and a bit more room. So I have what I call my "UN-TEAR". A tear but unlike a tear. Get it? Like the Un-cola years ago. The name may change to protect the inocent.

Thanks for noticing. One other person here knows about the moniker and that meaning of "sunny16". And yes, I have dabbled in the photo hobby most my life and I still love doing my own black and white stuff. I have used a digital for the past year and it is great for pics here. And thanks for the good words about the trailer. So many good people on this forum and great ideas and designs.
