They usually have cross references with inner & outer diameters and width in a catalog and can pretty much find any bearing that may exist that may work for you....True. Standard bearings are metric with inch sizes being "odd man out".
Also you may have to convert to metric (mm) if inches will not work for you....Bearings and the housing/shafts that they are used with are precision fits. I'm not sure if Dale is suggesting "compromising" the fit by getting "close enough" but "close enough" isn't close enough. If a bearing house can't get you the exact right bearings, do something else. A sloppy fit is definitely going to be a problem "down the road".

I never suggested anything other than "EXACT" fit..... My reference to inch vs metric was that the original measurements were in inches ( in first post), but that may not be accurate, it may have to be measured in "mm" (metric) for precise fit....

What i was interested in doing was replacing the 25mm id 30205 bearings with 1 1/16 inch 44649 bearings in the haulmaster hub and was wondering if anyone had ever done this and would it work. If the race 44610 for the 44649 bearing is the same width as the 30205 race it should work. The 44649 bearing fits in the 30205 race ok but the pitch is a little off not sure how much that would matter, Wow! now im confused. I think i ill just order some new hubs from etrailer.com as Martin suggested. Thanks again for the link.
