The interior trim is in. I am happy with it. Need to figure out how to fill in the gaps at the joints. I also burned through 3 belts sanding the outside edges where all the joints come together. Will have to do some minor filling and sanding. Worked a little bit on the tongue box. I am covered in sawdust.

I like your interrior wall treatment. Is that paneling?

Most of the paneling jobs I have seen don't look right with the faux joint lines running horizontal, but yours with the wide pine board look is more like how it would have been done in a Colonial home, especially for wainscoting. Nice color, too.

i used cherry venner for the paneling and stained it with minwax cherry color and a couple of coats of polyureathane. I used poplar for the trim and stained it black. i did not do a very good job in making tight straight seams so the wide trim was to fix that and the boards i cut the trim from were 3/4 inch thick. Because of the angle at the front I made the trim piece of of two pieces i glued together and then sanded smooth. I need to go and paint the cut joints and the wood screws black.

I've done enough woodworking to know that we are our own worst critics. Your build looks terrific! If there are any mistakes, you cover them up nicely. We do like .

Ok first and foremost do not attempt ever ever ever to cut a plastic electrical box with a chop saw. Just a word of advice.

with that said i was was working on the galley to give the sleeping area a break and the block i used to frame in the outlet and switch cracked. i was devastated, 25 minutes of work down the drain. to keep it simple i put a new outlet box in its place and will cover it with poplar trim. I also stained and fitted my cherry panels for teh galley. I need to ureathane them some more, but i think they look great. With the box damaged i now moved teh switch for galley lights up in the space by the lights. when i cut the cherry panels there was a strip just wide enough to cover the lights and switches. With some black trim i think this will look awesome. Painted teh center post and teh shelf support black

I hate my tongue box at the moment so i will put that on hold for a bit. I did spend some time cleaning up the electrical and rerouting teh AC power to the galley so that it will fit into the new box. I also installed teh cherry paneling in teh galley painted the shelf black started on teh shelf face frame and installed teh lights and ac outlet in the galley. finished some wiring i have put off in teh interior and installed cherry paneling in the shelf area. fun with these light is one is red and the other is white in the same fixture. alot of help from the kids they are really great kids.

It was a great weekend. lots of time to work on the trailer. sat around tonight and looked at the shelves and trying to plan the cargo netting doors. i just am not seeing it happen. trying to envison what it would be like to use and it seems more of a PITA than anything. I do have enough cherry to make doors and i have never done that, i am sure i could figure it out. The funds have run out for a little more plywood. (I feel bake sell comeing on) so i can still do a few other things. i may try to get some sandpaper and smooth out the joints. get that overwith and than attempt to epoxy and fiberglass the joints. spring break has hit and the kids have been a great help and i am taking a few days off to work on the trailer. life is good.

Well it was a good day of work. Took all the screws ouut of the roof and then set the router and made the all of the joints rounded. Used the half inch radius bit. Made more sawdust than ever before. I then recessed all the screws reinstalled them and then filled in all the rest with wood filler. Will sand and I am sure find a few more things that need filled. Thinking if the weather holds CPES

The Charley is coming along nicely. I really like the cherry paneling. I think my galley turned out too dark but yours has great color!

As Gremlin says basic black goes with anything. thanks for teh compliments it helps reasure that i am getting it done right. bought some dark door hinges from big box store to make for the galley. we shall see how that goes. the plan today is to pack and clean the house, (going to St. George to see the Blue Angels, strike that from the list of things to do in my life) also if there is anyone in St. george or in the area that would like to show off thier trailerr would love to come and look and get some advice.

Zach I am sure it will lighten up in the sunlight of course cherry darkens over time. Yeah i was about an inch into the cutting of the box and it just felt wrong really really wrong, so as i started to let go of the trigger and lift the saw up and removed the stick that was holding the box down the saw ripped it and shattered it into a million pieces, some which hit me and hurt like hell. lucky noone else got hurt.



Update: Spent the morning sanding the excess off of the screw holes plugs and wood filler. i put the galley counter back in to adjust a few things and cut out the hole for the sink. in doing so i also cut my vent line. I am sooo dumb. well its a good thing they still manufacture teh vent hose tubing. opened up the garage as i blew off all the dust from the roof. when i get back from this weekend i am going to have to take it out around the block or two and sweep out the garage. looking at it it feels different now almost like a campable trailer.
