OH GOSH!!! What did I get myself into???

Postby Armed Patriot » Sat Mar 10, 2012 9:34 am

Howdy all. Well, Im jumping in feet first. Ordered my Northern Tools trailer and a set of Kuffle Creek plans before I found this place. Looking at building my Belroy and I am very happy with what I see here... lots of plans, pics and ideas, Ive already found how to redesign the complex and overdone cabinets included in the Kuffle Creek design that didnt suit me anyways. Thanks.

My trailer showed up on Thursday and I was more than a bit disappointed. Boxes were shredded and the frame was a bit bent and looked as if the corner was dragged on concrete. Had to send it back for replacement. I was looking forward to putting it together this weekend, the weather is so nice. I found my 4x10 sheet metal and plywood suppliers, doors, etc, and I am anxious to get started. I look forward to visiting often and asking questions as this is a far reach from my normal activities.

Thanks and nice to meet you,
Todd

Welcome Todd.
They say the building is half of the fun. Well if the camping in the newiy built teardrop is the other half, then it is going to be a lot of fun too.
Enjoy your build and post pictures of your progress.
Again, Welcome aboard.

Welcome to the forum here Todd. I know how you feel about the delay. Once you make up your mind to launch, anything that gets in the way is a frustration, be it a part that doesn't come or a rainy weekend. But you'll get there. The building is a blast. I just started mine last fall, it has been "on ice" for the winter and I too am chomping at the bit to get going again. But my next step requires epoxy and it's still too cold to have a proper cure temp for a good 24 hours. So I get your frustration.

You definitely came to the right place for information. There's almost too much info to even assimilate here on this forum. And everyone is friendly, kind, supportive, encouraging and willing to share and help. You will find yourself at least as addicted to the forum as you are to your teardrop.

We look forward to seeing your build thread. Take lots of pics, share all your creative ideas and enjoy the process and all the great new friends you're going to make here. Also be sure to check out the Tearjerkers site. They are more a camping forum and there are chapters all over the country and they always have gatherings posted. They are already getting geared up with lots of events planned for spring. It's a wonderful way to meet your local teardroppers and campers and see every one's teardrops.
