Finding member name in list?

Postby Ira » Tue Mar 14, 2006 11:11 am

Is there an easy way to find a member name in the list if that guy is like in the middle of the list?

I was looking for George's PM button (fish trailer George), and when you do it to sort by user name (ascending order, for example), you have to keep pushing next, next, next to alphabetically find the guy--and literally scroll through every page until you get to our Georges.

At one time here, couldn't you more easily jump from page 1 to say, page 10, to at least hone on it more easily? Is this now a problem because there are 50 pages of members?

Fast Way for Me

Dear Ira,

I have found the same thing to be true. I also mentioned this to Dean and he suggested a way to fast find it. Sometimes I'll go to a site where I know the person posts and find their name there on as an author or a response post. Works faster for me then to scroll alphabetically.

Here is the method that I use for sites like this.

In your address box page 2 has this address

http://tnttt.com/member ... C&start=50

and page 50 has this address

http://tnttt.com/member ... start=2450

Each page has 50 entries and there are 50 pages so just estimate where in the list you want to go and then go to your address bar and change the last 4 digits to reflect your choice. Hope this helps![/b]

An easier way, if you know his user name is to use the search button. It has a search for author feature. http://tnttt.com/search.php
