We LOVE to camp in our Silver Shadow no matter what the weather, so ours became "The Four Seasons". Good luck being originally from Tennessee, I'm partial to the Hillbilly Deluxe.

I had a contest with my 8 siblings to come up with a name fer my teardrop...canned o minimum was the winner. I love Hillbilly Delux !

I recently bought an Eriba,Puck trailer to tow behind my 1965 VW Bug.. I call the Puck, The Fun House ! On the front quarter panel of the VW I painted "Runs On Fun ! So the Fun House jus seemed the logical name !

When I was building my TD I named it "The Flying Hippo" after a rock formation near here. But a few weeks ago I went on a camping trip to southern Utah and Toroweep Grand Canyon. Then it struck me. I had been there in 2002 in my pickup tent camping. It is about 55 miles off the paved road and then the road gets bad, real bad. It is 4x4 and rocks to the camp ground there and the canyon rim. So when I built the TD I built it with that road in mind and this was the first time I had taken the TD on it. So now it is Toroweep. Alternate spelling is Tuweep. So I can paint one on each side and be correct.

For mine, since the teardrop trailer was born from surplus WWII bomber skins I thought it would be fitting to pay homage to that history. My chassis is going to be painted OD green and it will have military Humvee taillights. I'm having a tattoo artist down the street recreate this nose art for me, the girl we be my wife. I will be going with the name sleepy time girl, instead of gal though.

Big Dave...that is awesome!!! I love the style..and am looking forward to seeing you build when you are finished!! I can already envision the decor for the interior..and you need to start collecting some milspec lanterns and stoves to go with it!

Your wife must be thrilled that she inspired 'Nose Art"...what an amazing honor!!

When my wife was undergoing chemotherapy I would work on the tear to keep from going crazy. :? So therefore I named it "Mental Therapy" :D

Very cool idea....I haven't done it yet, but always wanted to do one up in honor of my dads B-17....the Bad Egg.
WW2 nose art is just the best! I did do it on my boats. Miss Daisy and Miss Daisy II. Doug

I'm a glutton for WWII memorabilia..I think the nose art idea is fantastic. Even better..pull it with a Jeep.

Nose art and WWII pinups are great. Just a little slice of history..'everyone' knows it's WWII era when they see it..and it conjures up all kinds of memories..real or imagined, from the era. Blackout curtains on the west coast...Vespas being dropped from aircraft outfitted with some awesome artillery..(ok, so I want a vintage 'battle scooter')...food rationing, big bands, Rosie riveting Victory ships..gov't workers in trailer camps set up for the war effort..I have recipe booklets from the day and all kinds of stuff..

OK..back to teardrop names. Mine still does not have an official name. And I'm not sure I want to name it after it's era..the disco era!! Yuck!!

Sorry it was just there....someone had to say it...."Disco Duck".....some may remember the song, sadly, I can't forget it, now where's my bell bottoms?.....Dragonfire...people will remember it and get a giggle out of it.

Don't worry about a name, some people think one up prior to building, like I do, some have it come to them during the build, others because someone razzed them on it and it stuck, some don't have one.....If it's gonna happen, it'll just happen.....go with the flow. Doug

Thanks, Doug. Now I have that silly song stuck in my head. Fun name for a disco era teardrop, though. :D

We just refer to our trailer as "the camper"...

I have been told that we came in second for the "total lack of originality award", right behind Efrim Zimbalist Jr.'s parents...
