parts web site

Postby wingrydr57 » Tue Mar 13, 2012 6:58 pm

Hello all! I was wondering if anyone has ever purchased items from Vintage Technologies? They have the doors I would like to buy and free shipping! The only thing I am not sure of is to order anything you have to either use pay pal or send a money order, and since I dont have a pay pal account I would have to use the money order option. here is a link to their web site...http://teardroptrailerparts.com/Home_Page.html

Thanks, Steve W.

That's Frank Bear's website. Super nice guy. I bought both doors and a buttload of aluminum moldings from him in the past couple months. Don't call if you just have a couple minutes to spare.

Hey Steve, I use a prepaid Visa (gift) card for online stuff. Mine can be reloaded with cash at the post office so there's no link to my bank account. If I get scammed, all I lose it what I've put onto the card for that purchase.
I'm in Canada, but I'm sure you've got a similar option there and it's quicker than waiting for snail mail to deliver the MO...

Yea, solid guy, you can place an order and be assured of getting your order promptly. I have bought from Frank a few times and will be ordering again soon.

You don't need a paypal account to use paypal. You can give paypal your credit card info and they will pay the merchant.

I've ordered from Frank twice and have been more than pleased both times. And he is nice and helpful too. You can always call him with any questions and he'll take as much time with you as you need. I have given him my credit card number over the phone both times with no problems, but if you're wary of doing so I second the suggestion of buying a prepaid credit card at WalMart or somewhere and using that. I have also been using Paypal with absolutely no problem for many years and setting up an account is not a big deal.

Great thanks for all the info everyone! Is this a great web site or what? All I have are the sides cut out right now and have one almost done varnished. Anyone use the plastic hinges?? they look like the way to go seamless and no chance of leaking?

Anyway Thanks again everyone and if someday ya see someone pulling a teardrop with a goldwing trike well its me! Clear skies, Steve W.

Not my experience at all. I ordered a custom sized door frame (he only stocks a frame to fit a 3/4" wall). The web site says two weeks for custom frame width. I waited over six weeks only to get the wrong size.
When you order your part, that is exactly what you get. The part. No instructions, no templates, no fasteners, no hardware. :x
