New from Northern Nevada

Postby NMSU85 » Thu Mar 15, 2012 8:16 am

I blame it all on our friends, Randy and Debbie, who got us into this mess by building Monstero. One camping trip with them and we got hooked. My wife and I are about to retire and we wanted to step up from our current tent camping. I stumbled upon an outback teardrop website which was interesting and set the hook a little deeper. I started looking at tnttt and was amazed at what I found. We decided we liked the Grumman 2 design and my wife wanted aluminum. We really liked Aggie79's build and his photographs are fantastic. Our build will be modeled on his. I reviewed the chassis section extensively and built my own with the help of some friends who taught me to mig weld. It is a melding of the outback teardrop and Grumman frame from the design library. I just finished painting it and will upload some pics as soon as I learn how to resize them. More later.

Hello and welcome from Reno! Randy and Debbie are the best! They got us hooked with Monstro too. Let me know next time you're in the Reno area. You are more than welcome to check out my build in progress if you have some time. Wahoo another Northern Nevada teardrop! :applause:

All the best,

Dave

Hi Mike and Cindy! Good to see you here. I am beginning to feel like a drug pusher," come here little boy, look at this, don't you want one too?" Can't wait to see your progress! Hope you can get it done to come ups to our Unionville gathering in September or show off at Cabelas in August. We are going to be bringing Monstro over to the fairgrounds for spring wings this year. See you in person then, if not before. We will be wanting to take a look at your progress.

Thanks, Dave. Randy and Debbie clued us into you and Cindy and I would love to take a peek at your build. Are you in town anytime next week (3/19-23) when we could come see? I have the week off of work and cindy wants to start on the garden so I'll be looking for a break from roto-tilling (and finishing up my profile template).
