Hey folks,
Thanks for the advice. Seems like the consensus is to the side and up. I just wanted validation for my thought.
Gadget man...good idea about the protective grab handle.
I too bought the light with the switch installed on it. I thought it would make an easier installation too.
I think most people would not be mean enough to come by and turn your light on. I have a master switch to kill the battery connection while in transit and parking at store, restaurant or etc.
At campsite, I would not worry about someone doing that. I have not met mean camper...YET? Hee Hee

I took Ken A Hood's advice...hooked porch lights temporarily to battery and went outside tonight and tried different locations to check illumination and best look.
Definitely to the side and high works the best for me.
May sound trivial, but I wanted to make sure before I drilled holes and installed.

I took a clear large truck tag light and mounted it to the frame under the door and wired it to a switch inside the cabin,,, I havent made the final connection yet so I cant say how much light it puts out but a little is all I need,,, just enough to fine the ground and the first root I might come across,,,

I will try to hook it up tonight and let ya know how well it works,, and the cost was only about 6 bucks each so I didnt have to break my budget on lights,,,
