This Gal was selling Induction Cooktops, as shown above, and explaining how only Pots to which Magnets stick were useful. To overcome this 'shortcoming', she also sold a Metal Disc [ferrous] that one could use with non-ferrous Pans. The drawback to this Disc, she explained to a Customer, was 'that it got really hot' [the point of it; to heat up and transfer that heat to non-ferrous Cookware]. The 'drawback' to this Disc Accessory just really hit my Funny Bone somehow.

But, it did illuminate that there's an Accessory out there - easily homemade, I'm sure - that allows using non-Ferrous Cookware on Induction Cooktops.

EG,

I see your point but what the heck is up with induction stove tops that don't accommodate the most typical stainless or aluminum skillet? Granted I have plenty of cast iron cookware but I don't always choose to take it along. What good is an induction stove top if I can't use light weight cookware I prefer to take in a lightweigh camp trailer? :(

The induction stove top we have... I've put aluminum pans on it and done just fine with my cooking. I'm unsure where all that talk comes from. I"ve even been able to keep glass and ceramics cookware warm on it after coming out of the oven. I don't get what the discussion is. it's gets hot either way.

Wolfscout,

Thank you for some clarity. We need it. An induction stove top would be nice to have but so many rumors about not being able to use anything but ferrous skillets and pots has made me leery. Obviously that is because I have no experience with induction stoves or how they actually are intended to work.

Can anyone provide additional info about them?

On another note: Today I installed the new wheels and tires on our CT and we've started packing it for our trip to California.

The wheels and tires that came with our 2001 vintage CT, well we know nothing about their history, such as how long they have been on the CT, how many miles and years are on them. One thing I did learn/discover as I took them off is that they were never balanced. When I jacked the wheels up to remove them they promptly rotated to heavy side down, totally out of balance. Needless to say, no wheel weights were visible on either side of either wheel. That tells me the hub bearings are good and well lubed (I just relubed them to be on the safe side) and the wheels needed to be replaced. I bought the new wheels and tires from an on-line supplier and upon receipt took them to a local tire service center to have them balanced. Doing that makes me feel a whole lot more comfortable hauling the CT on this rather long trip. Can't wait to actually get on the road with the CT... on the road to Shamballa... :M

California or Bust! :P

OK so I am learning how to navigate the new TNTTT forum but am wondering about posting pics. I can't seem to post a full size image in/with my message. Is this the new normal? :(

Don I don't know if it's normal or not some say if you click on the pictures they will become larger,
but when I click on them using internet explorer it wants to know where I want to save them instead of enlarging.
and the thumb nail pictures are to small to do me any good it may be a space saving thing Mike has installed these sites cost a bundle.
we may need to send another donation his way.

You need to be logged in to view many of the photos. I don't quite get how this is set up that way. Also, to upload photos, go to user control panel > gallery > manage personal albums > upload image. Once it is loaded into your gallery, then you can post it to a reply by clicking Gallery and then selecting the photo you want. Hope that is helpful.

Also, there is a 500kb limit per photo.

Crumvoc,

I have the posting pics things under control i.e., I have long had my album setup and know how to upload pics to it and then insert pics in a post, but before the change pics appeared in posts full size. Now they don't. They have to be clicked on to view the larger size pic. I liked the old system better but perhaps it ate up too much server space. I understand the change but that doesn't mean I am happy with it... but I can and will live with it. :NC Be that as it may, I have no doubt Mike had a good reason for changing things.

OK, it's the night before we leave on a ten day CT trip and we're still packing stuff. Cameras, spotting scopes, tripods, astronomical telescopes, food, bedding, hiking gear... wow what a lot of stuff we must haul to pursue our hobbies, camping, and family visits. Life is good.

we just "upgraded" to a new system you may not have joined under the old system and not have seen how it worked
the pictures were larger
now they are more like thumbnails and you are suppose to be able to click on them and they will be come larger
the site doesn't seem to work with IE for some reason Mike will figure it out and fix it or it may not be able to ever work with IE.
thanks for the suggestion

Between Winnemucca Nevada and Reno Nevada at rest a stop off I80 and HWY95. At this point, HWY 95 heads south to Fallon Nevada and Las Vegas. Miles and miles of desert travel down that road, a road I have traversed many times. It is a trip unto itself.

Made it to Lake Tahoe Nevada and my Mom's house. Hints of snow but nothing heavy so far. Here's the CT and my Jeep in front of Mom's house in Tahoe.

Gotta load some furniture into the CT my Mom wants my Daughter to have so will transport same to Napa for my Daughter. Got the furniture loaded today. Will head for Napa California on Tuesday to visit Christi's folks, sisters, my daughter, and many of my childhood friends I grew up with. Old times are not forgotten. :applause:

I need to add a pair of air shocks to the Jeep. ;)
