Building of my Moyotcycle Teardrop

Postby [email protected] » Thu Mar 22, 2012 12:52 pm

It took me a month to build this trailer. It could have been much faster, but with all the wait times (stain & sealer drying, waiting for parts, etc.).
As you will see from the photos (when I figure out how to post photos) it is all wood (except for the toungue).
Skinned in polished aluminum (quite a job to polish that stuff).

Here is a link to my photo album. https://picasaweb.google.com/1020100584 ... directlink

Wow! That's pretty darn cool! It looks like it trails well behind the motorcyle, too.

It looks too small to sleep in, though. What do you plan to pack in it, camping supplies and tent?
How much does it weigh?

I have road tested it to 85 mph, empty and it should ride even better with a load.
I have to thank all who have posted about where to find parts, how to build, etc.
It made my build go so much easier!!

Yes it is too small to sleep in, it is only 4 ft long. I plan to carry my camping gear, stove & such.
Last year I took a 3 month trip on my motorcycle with all my gear tied to the bike and was afraid to
leave the bike for any period for fear that someone would steal all my stuff. This trip will be about 4 months
long and I plan to really enjoy the camping part more and prepare meals instead of buying all of them.
Now I can go hiking, see the local sites, and not worry about my gear.
