If I won the LOTTERY!

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

If I won the LOTTERY!

Postby campmaster-k » Thu Mar 29, 2012 5:22 pm

The lottery in California is over 470 million dollars. I am not a regular player but I did buy a few tickets for this one.

If I did win I would build a 100 space campground for teardrops. All teardrops camp for FREE. Full hook ups. Super nice bathrooms and a clubhouse. Sidewalks behind the sites for galley access and rear to rear parking so you could walk up and down the midway and check out the galleys. lots of trees and lots of grassy areas for the teardrop Olympics. And a tiki bar. And a swimming pool. And a cool little snack bar that makes the best hamburgers in the world. And what else would you like to see at the perfect teardrop campground?

Oh yea, and a huge Dutch Oven pavillion for cookoffs.

Others can camp to but they have to PAY!

What would you buy or do? :D

We have a mega millions lottery here in MI that is up to 540 million.

I contributed to a pool at work... I think that'll work out to 8 million each if they win.

And of course we always buy some tickets here at home too.

If I won enough money, I'd hire a couple craftsmen, and we would build myriad teardrop designs. Then, like Jay Lenno, we'd have to build a large garage to keep them all in!!! :D Naturally, we'd share all the building plans with you guys, free as always!

I haven't thought much about it, but teardrop trailer campgrounds sounds like an interesting concept. One on each coast for sure, and on Rt 66, and and and... :?

Kirk I'm just wondering how many lanterns you'd have

Kirk,
Nice daydream.
If you don't mind, add a lakefront beach with a boat ramp for us amateur boatbuilders. We like camping and building too! Plus like teardroppers, we are an honorable, if quirky, crowd. And we have a lot in common.
Myself, i am planning on building a teardrop soon and applying for dual citizenship!
Peace,
Rhett

We would buy the biggest piece of property we could find in northern MN near Lake Superior, just a few miles inland. Small little lake all to ourselves, with a stream going through with relaxing fishing no motors allowed. We would offer each of the kids a small camper and appropriate tow vehicle (not new) so they could come visit. Behind some trees out of site of our house a clearing for friends and family to camp once in awhile. The house would not be large but one room would be designed to hold multiple aquariums. Now since listening to all you folks rebuilding some great old campers and with the room and funds to do it might try rebuilding a few as a hobby. And a few horses more as pasture pets.

Not that I have given it much thought.

Sign the back of the ticket photo copy it and put in a safe deposit box. Hire an attorney and finacial planner. Set it up as a corporation if you can and have the lawyer stand in front of the world and say that the acme teardrop company of Utah won the ticket. Then not tell a soul that i won.

pay off my dads mortgage and the inlaws, set up the kids college/ life fund. set up a modest recurring deposit into a checking account. pay 100K to each of mine and wife siblings mortgages, or get them into a house. move closer to my wifes family, set up a nice house, 6 bedroom and 12 car garage. relax take a few vacations when the kids are out of school. take my time and finish Charley. A new TV a new Jeep. Cessna 337 a really nice one. Get the wife the car she wants.

12 car garage i am just kidding do not need that many cars, but a nice shop to build in would be nice. maybe build Charley style trailers for Boy Scouts modified in some way. a place for gear and then a huge slide out galley with tables that fold out. Use the builds as a front as to why i am doing so much better.

keep the kids grounds yet see the world. 2 weeks in alaska then 2 in hawaii follewed by 2 in asia. then summer vaction is over. next year Europe. I would also want the kid to experience life not just sit around at a posh hotel but get out and see the world.

For most people winning the lottery brings more misery. all of a sudden people you havent heard from in 20 years pop up just to say hi or lets go into buisness its a great plan. i know i have a sister that i hate and we dont talk and all of a sudden she will be the nicest thing until i dont give her what she wants and then im a ***********! I would want to do nice things but on my terms and not someone begging or making feel guilty.

I've been hearing about this all week at work, now here on the website...I wasn't going to waste my TTT money on a ticket! I couldn't stand it anymore, so I just got up from the computer (not even logging off, or standing by), jumped in my car, and bought a few tickets. I haven't done so in years, but it would just kill me to find out that the winner was bought in my area, and I had not even tried. Not much chance to win, but I could at least finish my TTT build. Forgot to mention: across the road from the convenience store where I bought the lottery tickets, I saw a teardrop shaped maroon/white/silver trailer under a shed. I would've taken a picture, but I left my cellphone by the computer, and I didn't get a good look at it because, in my haste, I also left my glasses behind as well. I'll have to go by there later, so I can take a better look!

I hear the odds are similar to this..

Find a really big bathtub and fill it with white rice.

Then take one kernel of brown rice and throw it into the tub of white rice. Mix well.

Last, put on a blindfold, spin around once or twice, and then reach into the tub and pick out one kernel of rice.

Do you think you found the brown kernel? Anyways, those are the odds...

I look at it this way. Someone has to win. Screw the odds. If I was to play those odds, I'd never buy a ticket. The only odds I play are the numbers. ...

I saw everyone in line for the mega lotto and decided to buy 2 tickets for our Gopher 5 and 2 for Hot lotto. Figure my odds are better since everyone is buying for the other one. If I only win a few thousand I will probably be designing a cargo trailer conversion with full bath so my husband could join me on an occasional camping trip.
Its all about the dream isn't it?
