5x10 -- Will it fit in the garage?

I'm thinking of a 5x10 enclosed trailer...

The exterior height is listed as 80" and in my garage it might kiss the garage door opening... or it might not fit at all... depending on how and when the tires bump up on the "ledge" where the garage meets the doorway, and due to the slope of the drive.

What is your experience??

I don't have the option to store the trailer outside.

if its real close, air down tires, or switch to smaller tires for garaging.
And if its that close you wont be able to install roof vent, but there are other options
You need to call dealer and find the ground to roof hight, then measure your door

I have a 5x10 and it fits in my garage. It used to roll right in no problem. I've added a roof vent, changed to a drop axle and added 30 inch tires and now I have to let about 90% of the air out of the tires before I can squeeze it in with almost no room to spare.

A drop axle sounds like an option. I'm not sure exactly which models the local dealer has (United Trailer) but the United website shows a drop axle on some and torsen axles on others. And I think the tires are 205/75R15 which would be ~27".

What brand is your trailer, maybe I can compare specs?

Mine is a CM Cargomite like this one:

It came with 205/75-R15's. I had a brain fart on the axle, I never had or installed an actual "drop" axle. My goal was to make my trailer sit higher and get bigger tires for offroad use. It came with a torsion axle with 22 degree UP angle. I swapped the axle with a new one with a 22 degree down angle (making the trailer sit higher) and added the larger tires. I really think it would fit fine in the garage as it sits if I didn't install the fantastic fan. With that it's about 3 inches too tall, so I just deflate the tires and squeeze it in when I need to.

Yep, constantly airing up and down is a deal breaker for me. A vent of some kind would be a requirement too.

I guess I can understand that... but I don't think it would really take that long assuming you have the right tools. I have auto deflators for my truck (for off road stuff) and all you do is screw them on, and they go down to a pre-set pressure only taking about 60-90 seconds. Airing up would only take 30 seconds if you had a compressor.

Otherwise, you could always get something with a reduced height roof, the tradeoff being you'd have to hunch to more around when inside. I almost did that just so it would be less wind resistance while towing. I have a 8'-5" door opening, but because I'd really like to have 35" tires on mine for a little better off road ability.Even with having a 6' interior, I may end up having the same problem though. I'm thinking about using air bags for the suspension so I can reduce the height that way. I have a shop and truck mounted compressor, so hopefully it should be straight forward airing back up.

I suppose it would be a little more involved to create a pop top on a cargo trailer conversion, but that may be the solution to your garaging problem.

I built my trailer from the ground up specifically to get under the 82-inch door height limit. The outside dimensions are 11x6 and the interior height with the pop top down is 5-foot 5-inches, just a little slouch for my vertically challenged height of 5-foot 8-inches and shrinking.

I pull the wheels off and put on my flat disks and just roll it in.

with a floor jack and an air impact wrench it only takes about 10 minutes.

That's an interesting solution. Did you make those or buy them? What are they made from?

the wheel disks are 1/4 inch flat steel. I had a local fabrication shop make them up. I just brought in one of the trailer's wheels and they copied the bolt pattern.

I swapped out the wheels on the foamie from 12" to 8". And if your garage door is tall enough that might be all someone needs...
