Here is a picture of an aluminum frame recumbent trike that built before I built the Teardrop. I'm not sure that there was a positive transfer of leaning, but the trike was a very fun build.

The trike looks like fun. That bottom bracket looks higher than most recumbent trikes I've seen. Does it present any problem seeing past you knees?

I ride a short-wheelbase USS recumbent bike, but am considering a trike.

The angle of the main tube was bent at a local muffler shop and they bent it at a great angle than I told them too, so it did make the bottom bracket a tad bit higher that I wanted. I only had the 1 length of that diameter of tubing so I went with what I had. I think I ride with the seat reclined a bit more because of the height of the bottom bracket, but I haven't had any problem with my knees blocking what I need to see. The other riders that have riden it ,have never said anything about the possition of the bottom bracket. I used to ride and Ebike recumbent before it built the trike and I like the rike of the trike a lot better now that I'm older. When I get hungup in my clips I don't fall over.

I had always heard that higher bb recumbents were faster? [hmm am not sure that's how I want to say it?]..but higher feet like that would result in the glutes being used more than on a bike with lower feet.

I like your explanation. That's why I made it the ways it is. Faster!! That sure sounds better than letting the muffler shop put the wrong bend in the main tube.
