Hey, I got a REAL weed burner torch hanging in my shop. And a 120 gal tank outside. Just think of the fun.

I've wanted a weed burner torch...went to Landscape Design school and the torch sounded fun!! I meant FUNctional. Yeah, that's it!

I have the Little Red Campfire that Slow has. I haven't used it yet. Hopefully next weekend I will be driveway camping and will use it then..marshmallows and all. I'll report back on the propane usage. Kinda want to finish the tank I have on my grill and get a full one anyway for the Dam, since I haven't purchased and painted one yet..

the amount of gas behind a weedburner doesn't really mean a thing.

But the gas behind a....oh never mind. I'll get accused of Hijacking AGAIN!!!

So I was bored while waiting at Brake Masters today. Read teh CW Master Catalog. Saw that there is a cooking grate available for the Little Red Campfire that Slow and I have. $15. I want one.

So...does that mean my food would be fake? It's cooked over a fake fire. Or would it be cooked but uncooked at the same time...being that the fire is fake.

I'm confused..... :?

it's the Camping World Master Catalog. 1-800-626-5944. You can also go to http://www.campingworld.com/

It's on page 17 of the catalog. Item # 56003

Looks cool. has it's own carry bag. 10 /12" diameter. I think I'm going to order one..even though I have the Rocklin CW just up the hill...hopefully I'll get it before the Dam...

What's all this talk about "fake fire" ...??? If it burns your pinkies and/or cooks your hot dogs or marshmallows, then fire is fire and real as hell ... ...! Some of it smells good, some of it smells bad, and some of it doesn't smell at all (like, all these propane-fuled ones everyone's talking about). Fake fire is that program you can get for your big-screen TV that makes it look like you've got a crackling fire in a fireplace, or those light bulbs behind a rotating screen that makes you think you're looking at a real fire!

All in good fun ... :D ;) :D ;) ...!

But, FYI ... I just became a dealer for FireDancer!

I guess if you really want a "fake" fire and plenty of heat and flames...you could always get a Salamander! Load one up with diesel and it'll roar for quite a while, not the newer style with the electronic stuff on it but the old cheap ones, with a tank of fuel and a large vertical chimney on them. Drop in a can of gasoline down the chimney and they really took off....kept the drillers helpers on their toes. Sitting on a drill rig in Wyoming in the middle of winter...a "Sally" was your buddy! Those were placed in strategic places in fire camp back in the dark ages. They'd put them outside the shower trucks/tents. We'd use them for hair drying. They burned diesel in them. We'd joke about hugging the salamander. At one place, where I worked in camp and not on the line, we ordered a bunch of salamanders. It was October and on the Olympic peninsula. A slash burn had gotten away. Our worry was keeping the crews warm so 3 sided lean-tos were made out of tarps and a salamander was placed in front of each lean-to. The crews said they kept them warm and dry.

I slept in a semi trailer in that camp. No heat, but it was dry.

WE use to heat spud cellars with salamanders. tricky to light when you are worried about not burning down the cellar. Then when one would go "wonky" and start smoking instead of burning clean would fill the cellar full of smoke and foul stuff to breath. Thought I was close to death one night trying to get one under control. I was also suffering from bronchitis that night.
