Stupid Mistakes

I made so many mistakes...er..design changes, i lost count..the doctors say i can block out bad things real good..

First piece of advice: don't cut a nice rectangular hole if your window has rounded corners. It leaves 4 gaps to deal with.

Second, don't leave your ball mount in when driving around in your Honda Odyssey. Just because it dragged going from driveways to streets many times does not mean it might not catch one time... and turn your hidden hitch into a not so hidden hitch..... still trying to figure out how to straighten that one out.... I did cut the excess threaded portion off the ball... too late.

That's an engineers trick, not a mistake.

When I finished all my drawers I took them out and stacked them in the corner. When I went to put them back in, I found out that each drawer only fits in one spot. Even though the measurements are the same, they are not interchangable.

That's known as being organized. The drawers will always be in the same place.

My mistake: hastily purchasing certain items and then changing my plans latter on. So...now I can't use some of the things I bought, like a 4' hurricane hinge (anyone need a 4' one for their build?). I am now building the tear 5' wide, so I'll need a 5' wide hinge. If only I could stop changing my mind about everything.

stupid things i've done:
wired the fuse block backwards. (roy was visiting, saw what was going on, and threw himself between me and the battery just as i was going to test it)
shaved fiberglass to fit with a jigsaw and without any protection (...F*!@&#$ OW. OW. and once more for those of you playing along at home, OW!)
built the side doors to fit the space exactly... then had to shave, hack, chip, grind and curse at them to make them fit.
and the biggie...
thinking i could get it all done in 3 weeks.

i learned my lesson(s). it was worth it.

Ah that's the plan. Like a teaser huh. Let them get the taste of a small one and hook them. Next thing you know they'll be building their own.
