I bolted the 3/4 floor directly to the frame but installed a 2x4 halo around the edge to cover the frame and give me a place to attach the sides.

HOWEVER....I was concerned with the road impact literally driving off the glued and screwed halo so I measured up 4 1/4" on the wall and installed a 1x4 cleat the length of the wall to help carry the impact load. With the floor supporting the cleat and the cleat carrying the wall it took a great deal of the strain off of the halo 2x4 edge.

It also made assembly easier as it is hard for one person to hold a 10 foot wall in place and fasten it at the same time. The cleat offered a rest for the wall and assured it would be square and level.

Hi Bob,

Thanks so much for the visual -- photos really help me understand the build process. I think I've decided to attach the 3/4" flooring to a 1x2 frame which would then be bolted to the trailer. I will also use your idea of adding a 1x2 cleat the length of the wall to help carry some of the verticle load.

Cheers,
Ken
