Rob, funny you say that, I have actually been thinking pretty seriously about building a nice simple 4' wide one that I can lend to friends eventually! Now I just need to get the first one finished,

Amy, go ahead and build the four footer now. Then build the five footer with all you want incorporated in that one. The first one will be the test and practice and then the second one will be the cats meow.

My favorite mistake is cutting a piece EXACTLY 1" short. I've done that one more times than I can count.

When I spent a machinest apprenticeship my instructor told me that an inch mistake is an accident - but a thousanth of an inch mistake is carelessness.

I didn't tighten the nut on the hitch so that it was holding the ball really tight. I did put down the latch, but...
Went over a speed bump and, well, the chains worked.
There was a hitch shaped hole in the front of the tear though.
