Anybody quit coffee successfully?

For all those switching from coffee to Tea... depending on the type of coffe you drank, and the type of tea you're drinking now, you're still getting the same amount of caffeine.

Take a look at the following site to see how your choices stacked up:

http://www.energyfiend.com/the-caffeine-database

I believe one difference (and I don't remember where I read this) is that the way tea is brewed, the caffeine effect wears on longer and dissipates slower so your body doesn't realize it's leaving the system.

Personally, I can't drink coffee anymore after selling the stuff for 2 years... my choice of 'fix' is a mountain dew every morning. Just 1 though, and it takes me 4 hours to drink it.

I gave up Caffeine a few years ago due to health issues. I was a two plus pot a day coffee drinker and drank coffee until 9:00 at night and still would fall asleep by 10:30. I started to rid the caffeine by mixing part decaf and regular coffee and tapering down on the regular coffee over three weeks until I was on decaf only. Today, I allow myself 1-2 cups of decaf coffee in the morning and then switch to loose leaf herbal teas and occasionally head to the coffee stand and splurge on a decaf latte. I do not drink soda pop unless you count cans of lemonade on occasion.

I just got back from the DamGathering. Guzzled coffee every day. It is impossible to quit.

I had decaf at my camp (and regular)..you should have come over. Made it in the electric coffee pot too!!

I made half caf. It was good. Wait...I even brought the pot to the campfire, so you had no excuse not to have some, except that you didn't bring a cup over!

Yup, repeat after me "My name is Campmaster-K, and I am a caffeine addict"

My Doctor recently told me to give up coffee, so I did, I had to give up other stuff too.

It's no big deal, just something I can't have anymore.

I just drink Earl Grey or fruit tea's instead.

Pilot truck stops have the most awesome coffee ever. Hazelnut coffee, with french vanilla creamer :beautiful:
When I'm home, I don't drink coffee at all. I've been on vacation for 10 days now, and no coffee all that time. I guess I just don't have the addiction.
