Trainman:

While you have interior opened up, check the plumb of the front V-Nose. On the curbside of my Haulmark CT, the V-Nose plumb is out from top to bottom enough that I had to re-do and shim/build out the upper to the top section of the wall right up to where the top horizontal steel stud runs from the V-Nose to the side of the CT. Unfortunately I did not notice until I had the new interior paneling installed and screwed in. This turn of events required quite some time to remove the paneling, shim, re-install/re-fit etc. I am still not all that pleased with it but will have to do for this year as I am running out of time. The roadside V-nose is ok and I did not have to shim this wall but need to shim the cabinets a bit when installed.

I'll post some more details when I update my build thread which I plan on doing tomorrow.

Really like the solar panel set up. Did you install them?If so what is the cost and how complex was the solar panel install?

Thanks I'm rolling on my build. the quality of the wiring was very poor when I got the ply wood down I will post some pix next post. The wiring was just hanging down looked like shorts waiting for a place to happen.

Are you putting a layer of bubble over your styro n then putting the ply wood back on?

Thx for the info and help

Hi RD,
Yes, the bubble will go over the styro, then the plywood over that. I am going to stain the wood, tired of the slivers...... lol.
Hey great to hear your getting started, get some pics up when you have time.

Hi Gang,
While visiting my niece in Vegas I was able to get some work done. I am so surprised at the feeling I have after doing the work on the trailer myself. As noted before, I am not a handyman type person. I had a hammer and a screwdriver in a drawer somewhere.... lol. Well, I went and bought a drill and some tools and dove in. Now this is MY TRAILER. !! So cool to know where the wires are and what is behind the walls because you put it there. I had many mistakes and "Do Overs", but I figured it all out and everything worked out well. It is Solid Baby.!! This Forum is so great, all the ideas of what each owner comes up with is amazing. Thanks for all the pics and the "how to's" to do things. I OWN this Trailer, and I hope You Own your Trailer too. It is a great feeling, and I just did some basic stuff. Here are a few pics of what I did.

Stripped and Insulation started

Insulation Finished
92408

Bubble wrap insulation up
92415

Ceiling up
92410

Stained wood up
92411

Wires Zipp Tie looped above walls and below ceiling
92412

Trim Finished
92413

Springs flipped on top of axle for higher clearance... I let the pro's do that.. lol
92414

Simple 2 beds on Action Packers for storage, "Dorm Fridge", porta potty, LED light strip, fan
92416

Back to Living on the Road. Went from the desert in Vegas to 7000 ft. mountains, Coconino National Forest south of Flagstaff AZ.

Retired and we are having a Blast. I take care of my 92 yr. old Dad, who has alzheimer's, and travels with me.

Very nice work! You have every right to be proud of your accomplishments. :D

Glad to hear you're getting time to spend with your Dad. That's great.

What did you use for the transition from the wall to the ceiling? That came out really clean.

Hi bigbendhiker,
Thank you. !! The trim is white sheet metal that came with the trailer when I bought it. Looked pretty nice before I took it down, so I just put it back up. Makes for easy access to the wiring if you have any problems to check for.

How are the solar panels working? I bet you don't have to plug in at all anymore.

Hi Bruce,
The solar is working great. I never plugged in before no AC outlet. I do have the Honda 2000i generator that has not been used since the solar was installed. The solar gives me the Rock & Roll and Country now, plus coffee, charges all the puters, phones, elec. razor, camera batts., and lights. So cool.
Free power all the time. Highly recommend solar to anyone thinking about it, it is the way to go.

Hi Breatheasy,
Hey great to see you found the forum ok. Your welcome for the table, happy to give it to a fellow camper. I wanted to tell you, that you and your buddy were so great with the kids, it was amazing, and they were so well behaved also. With no women around to help, you two were excellent !! The kids had a great time, and those nets they had, trying to catch things was a great idea. Really enjoyed having you guys camping nearby, and as you know, being fulltime, we get a lot of camping neighbors.... lol.

We are having a good time here at Zion National Park, and my Dad really likes the cliffs, they are awesome.!! When you have time, checkout all the great builds here, and many pics to go with them. I am sure you will find some how-to's to go along with your ideas. It was nice to meet you.
