Thanks for your advice dan. I dont have a trim ring or i would install it properly. Also the window is for a 1" wall so with panelling on the wall ill be at 1 1/4 or 1 3/8 and the ring wont fit.

It may be possible to find the correct trim ring online if you know who manufactured the window. You got such a great deal on the windows, a few bucks for the right trim rings (if you can find them) might not be so bad. If you can't find them, I don't think evenly spaced stainless steel screws would look that bad. I would probably use #8 square drive pan head screws. (Square drive makes it a LITTLE more difficult for would-be thieves)

kyfly, what is your overall height?

That one looks like it will sneak into a garage.

I think its 6'5 if I recall correctly. Would definitely fit if I aired down a little. I'll be cutting a 30x30 hole for the window tomorrow...wish me luck all.

Got started on the window install today. The hole is cut and I installed a 1x1 below The window as well as a 1x1 header. Then cut some 1" wood to frame in the sides. I drilled out the the windows exterior flange and it will be screwed into the steel top and bottom as well as the wood frame on the sides. The window is quite large compared to the trailer but its much brighter inside and I'm happy with The turnout. I have an 18x 24 being shipped and it will be installed on the opposite side. Pics to follow tomorrow.

NICE!! I like it. You can't have too big of windows in my opinion. I'd rather be able to look out and see what going on when I'm inside.

Window is the perfect size, Love lots of window, tiny windows suck if your stuck inside due to bad weather
Trailer is a great size for your TV, any taller would be a major pita on gas milage
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

This is such a great idea , we’ve been looking all over for a used (less expensive) shorty of good size in this area .... no such animal :( ... Thinking it must be a Custom fab... :o I’m only guessing they would be the same price as the taller ones , but never ordered a custom build before ... They’re never Less, hoping not more ... Perfect for my needs ... and will fit in the garage, if needed ... 8) Guessing we just find a company we like and contact them huh?

I feel quite lucky to find the trailer i did especially for the price i paid. I had been stalking the local classifieds for months before finding one. They just dont seem to make many trailers this small with a side door. i called around to a few dealers and got quoted 3000+ for a 5x8 v nose with a side door installed.

Progress has been a bit slower than id hoped but heres where im at now:

Im hoping to get the ceiling finished with white hardboard this week and get the last window put in. What screws do i need to use for the trim ring? Will any metal screws in the appropriate length work?

IMO I prefer stainless.

Dadgum it! I cut that board 5 times and it's still too short!
