Question about build

I have my trailer frame built and am now beginning to put up the sides and top. If I use plywood for the top, what kind of epoxy is best to seal the plywood? I know that I will probally paint it with a good exterior paint but I'm not sure what to use to seal it first. As I'm putting the top on can I use a brad gun and glue to apply the plywood to the spars? What is the best type of glue to use?

Yes you can use brad nails I like Tight bond III but you can use a construction grade adhesive.

Blue those are questions with alot of answers. Some on here only use. CPES from tbe Rot Doctor others use epoxy, I did epoxy from aeromarine inexpensive compared to some but great for my needs. Brad nails will work in some areas and not in others like the curves. I used a combo of staples, glue (gorilla) and screws with washers on them. I start painting mine hopefully next weekend but I'm using a Valspar tractor enamel paint from Tsc, cost was good and dries very hard. I watched Scott (Starleen) build his Green lantern build and he used a lot of same stuff on his build. Hope this helps. Oh I almost forgot all the brad nail, staples and screwholes have to be puttied and sanded so think of that so you don't get trigger happy lol, I did and sanding just sucks.

I bought the 1 1/2 gal non blush kit with pumps. With shipping I think it came to $120 and made it in 4 days.

I bought 1 gallon and used cheep paint brushes. I did not do my whole tear because I did mine in truck bed liner. I did however coat any thing that it looked like water could get in and cause damage. like the end grain of all my plywood and screw holes

Cliff, did you use fiberglass cloth on your top? and if so is this the epoxy you used for the cloth and can you use this epoxy without the cloth, on plywood?

Hey blue I did use tape I picked up from west marine (cheaper on the net) and I used it on my seams and the the roof to side seam. I used the epoxy to seal my luan and plywood by itself and did not use the CPES. It does well on both tape and on the sides and roof. I would do one coat on th4e tape to wet it out and let cure over night and then sand it some and smooth the tape edges and I would do the whole tear and let it be first on everything and it would 2nd coat the tape.
