I must first say that I am completely blown away by the pressure-cooker shower -- I forgot the relief valve! But seriously, what a great design! Do you pressurize it with a bicycle pump or what?

I have a solar shower, which is OK, and I sometimes cheat by heating the water first.

But my favorite system involves two galvanized buckets and a length of rope. One bucket nests in the other, and has lots of small holes in the bottom. Simply fill with water, set near the fire or on the stove until desired temp is reached, then tie the rope to the bail of the inner bucket and throw the other end over a handy tree limb or what-have-you. Lather up, then raise the inner bucket and quickly tie off to rinse. I buy 12-quart buckets at Tractor Supply (about 8 bucks) but most feed-and-grain or farm-supply places should have something similar.

The system is easily and safely portable so ladies and shy types can walk off in the woods or use a shower/potty shelter for privacy.

Sorry , I know I need to do my introduction (and I will) but Ive been reading through the Camp Shower thread , and from a link on here that took me a number of places , I stumbled across this . The vid is pretty fast so you need to watch it a couple of times.
Wife and I used the pump and shower unit you see here (yellow) when we had hot water problems at home. A 20litre or 4gallon bucket of water at the right temp would see us both showered !

Easy peasy. I got one of these. I just heat water in a stock pot on my camp stove (2.5 gallons or so) and drop this pump end in the water, plug the 12 volt power end into an accessory outlet and shower away. There's a waterproof switch in the line so I can shut the water off while I lather up.

I bought one this spring and used it last week. It works great (but I'm going to change the leaky gasket). Just take a thermometer and heat your water to 108º!

That is cool! For places you can't let soap or water go on the ground, stand in a plastic cement mixing tub to shower, dump it into a bucket to take and dispose

I am not very inventive. I just take a simple 5 gal plastic bucket and drill a hole about an inch up from the bottom and install 3/4" pipe with a cheap shut valve between the bucket and a cheap shower head purchased from Lowes. I simply drill progressively larger holes in the center of the inner shower head assembly until I get the stream I want. You discover the hole size by trial and error. I've made three of these and every one because of a different shower head has a slightly different hole drilled in it. Very simple assembly, the thing is gravity fed and 1 gal of hot water in 4 cold gals gives a nice warm shower. I just have the bucket assembly sitting on a shelf in a wooden frame 4 x 4 feet X 8 foot tall that is wrapped in a dark tarp. I discovered the hard way that a dark tarp works better at blocking the heat of the sun than a light colored one. You also don't put on a shadow show when the sun is directly overhead. You don't have much money in such an assembly and it works great. The whole thing breaks down and sits up on the top of the Tow vehicle.

This has been my Camp shower for the last couple years. The only thing I wish I would have done is find a stainless version that is the same size. Working on installing a Suburban water heater on my camper so I won't need to worry about it for too much longer.

Dr Bronner's Soap is supposed to be fine for any kind of outdoor use. I use it for everything around the house from kitchen to bath to laundry.
