Newbie from central VA

Postby Jkester » Tue May 15, 2012 9:18 pm

Hey everyone,
Ten days ago I thought a teardrop was a drop of water on my face.... now I have a NT trailer, Steve's manual, and way too many ideas running around my head.

Just to add to the fun, my dear wife made camping reservations for September and invited a bunch of people to join us and see the teardrop in action. Thanks a lot. BTW, she has already named the TD - "Dog Catcher" since it will be the camping home for our yorkie and a yet to be determined companion.

Be prepared for dumb questions. Hopefully more questions will mean less redoing of things.

There are no dumb questions and there are always lots of folks willing to answer any you have. As a matter of fact, you'll probably have your choice of more answers than you know what to do with.

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like your wife has set you up for a fun challenge. I hope you work well under pressure, although if you keep it simple September should be very doable. (Although there are some around here with mad skills that can build pretty much anything in that amount of time. Maybe you are one of those types of folk.)

We are looking forward to seeing your build journal. Post lots of pictures. We love them and we all learn from them.

September is very doable. I built "The Barn" in 5 1/2 weeks while working 45 hours a week. Mostly working very long days on the weekends. I might suggest you just get it campable and don't try and do all the bells and whistles right away. With a couple outings under your belt you will be able to add the goodies you need or want for your style of camping.

P.S. Welcome to the insanity
