Sorry - I skipped one of your questions and just realized that.

I store the petcool in the trunk of my car when not in use.

The "trunk" is actually quite roomy. I can fit 2 bag chairs, a Coleman lantern, can of fuel, collapsible shovel, and various other odds and ends in there with room to spare. The countertop is now much sturdier and roomier, and no more bugs, cooking odors, or crumbs in the sleeping area.

too bad you didnt make it waterproof, and insulate it with a drain in the bottom. it would make an excellent cooler!

Did all the 2006 LG models have the flip up galley lid? I'm looking at one now and just wanted to know how big of a PITA it would be if I decided to add sink later? Probably wouldn't want built in grill as that would just be something to get dented and smashed underneath other stuff that came lose in transit. If something is going to get broken I would prefer it not be something with a gas jet on it.

The potential problem with sealing up the vent with a cover is that a you have the potential of no outside air and that is you know can kill you. Using a side entry can mean make up air can be brought in.
When our AC is running the roof fan is running to help keep air distributed and bring in a little outside air.
I always thought the LG was crying to have the galley modified and with out reinforcement the particle board sags. Some nice mods.

And my little guy silver shadow started leaking after 2 years.
Thought I could fix it, was wrong.
Bad hinge and hatch design. Leaked at the ends of the hinge.
Now it's only worth the frame, tires and the doors.
It's the fastest I pissed away $10,000

Eric, really sorry to hear about your Little Guy problems. Don't you have some kind of warranty to get these problems taken care of? I thought I had seen others say on this forum that the company is pretty good about making things right.

My build is costing me more than I originally thought and my husband has asked me if it would have been cheaper to buy one. Maybe, but I am feeling pretty good about knowing that I am going to get something really solid and made to last in the end. If it costs, it costs.

My Little Guy does not leak. I've pulled it and camped in it in frog stranglers and stayed dry. The only "leak" was when I messed up while dumping a massive amount of water from a sagging canopy and it went inside the open door. I was on my way home so when I got home, I took out the mattresses and propped them up in front of the woodstove to dry. No problem.

I like the flip up shelf. I prop it up while making the bed. I've had no problems so far. My modification that I'm thinking of is a net to attach above and at the edge of the shelf to keep things from bouncing off the shelf and into the void.

My problem which I hope was fixed by our RV guy was that the factory did not hook up the charging wire for the battery. I'll soon see if it is fixed.
