Old Coleman Stove

I am in a online auction for an old coleman stove. i have never seen one like this and was wondering if anyone else knows anything about it. I know that they are called Air o gas and thats about it. If I win it I am planning on restoring it. Thanks for your time. Oh and here is a link to the item.

The burner grates kinda look AGM'ish to me, but I'm sure there is lots of stuff I haven't seen in the stove world, especially in the home type units. I was looking around some of the archived stuff at the ICCC and didn't see a stove with that appearance. Doug

Stove is a Coleman Instant Gas model #904. Says patent pending and was made in Wichita Kansas.

Probably was one of those things that when a family moved on it was to big and left abandoned in rural houses across the continent. Specially after rural electrification came to town.

I got it home after work and I just couldn't help myself. I started to tear it down and used an sos pad on some of the parts. The bolts came undone really easy so I don't know whether to count my blessings or wonder if its been apart before. The porcelean (I know I spelled that wrong) is in really good shape. No chip, cracks or breaks. I still have no idea what year it is. If anyone can help me with that it would be greatly appreciated.

This is just a guess, but it looks like it could be a modified 1931 378A Cabin Stove? I say modified because all the ones I found are not as tall as yours, and the the burners, valves and tank look the same yours. I'm no expert this is just a guess.

Why? Oh why? Do I NEVER see the typo's until after I post. Doh!

The center burner grate looks different that the 378A also.

Giving everyone an update. I drained the tank because there was still fuel in there. Everything came apart nicely except for the control valves. I spent two days soaking and got one out and the other broke. I never even felt it bind and with the look at the tip I think it was already broken. I have found that the top was black and the bottom was a gray. I got all the top parts painted in primer but I did that so I can see where the dents are and what metal work I have to do.
