Hi everyone. I went out and bought the 2000 on Friday night and started it up on Saturday with a full tank of gas and still had fuel when we left Monday afternoon. It runs so quiet that and powered everything we had with us with no problems at all.My buddy that came with us was drooling all weekend, it wont be long befor he goes and buys one too. I looked into the 2000 companion model at the Honda dealer and they told me that it was the American model and that they could'nt get them. As for connecting there was no issus with the dog bone and the 30 amp. cord. Money well spent.
Thanks for all the info John

John go to that yahoo group I mentioned in my first post they show ways two generators can be hooked together
with a build your own cord as well as other mods that make the Honda more versatile.

cool glad your liking it. I love mine. Don't forget to change the oil after break in. I think the first time is pretty quick. Around 25 hours if I remember right after that its every 50 hours. Its Very easy to change.. Remove the check plug dump the oil out into your oil pan then refill with 10w-30w

I have (had) a 2000 which my loving Son stole for tailgating at the football games.............I got a 1000 (lighter, slightly quieter) for the Tear and general backup. I love them both. Remember to try to set a "startup" sequence when you store them for a long period (couiple of months or more). They get cranky when not used and can be hard to start the first time. I keep mine in the garage over the off season and have a note on the calendar. I have been kinda nervious about some locations and possible noise issues...........while I have never had a complaint, I built a deflector out of a funnel and some black PVC pipe. I actually made it a wee bit less noisey and the exhaust goes upwards. I still wasnt satisfied, so I carry several small panels of wall insulation material (like styrofoam) and make a box to cover three sides and the top..........I can hardly hear the danged thing now. Total overkill I suppose, but it was a giggle to see what I could do. With the limited hours of use and at 58 dB, the little stinker is a winner in my book..........and the built in generator is an added plus...........enjoy

The web site states "11 week lead time." for a fully converted generator. Meaning it's a 11 week wait after ordering it. But it was worth the wait.

That way I can keep it inside the apartment without the gasoline smell. :D
Got it from these guys.

I ended up with the Yamaha 2000...
They offered it for the same price as the Honda
and threw in one service and a nice cover...
About the only difference I see between the two is
mine has a gas gauge and it a lot easier to change the oil.
Oh and it's blue...
Man those inverter units run quite...

Hi everyone, I did a lot of reserch befor I bought my Honda. It came down to the Honda or the Yamaha, the Honda won because the price was $200.00 more but the Yamaha engine is 19.5 cc smaller. Oh and Honda threw in the cover also. The dec reading on the Yamaha is 1.5 dec. quiter than the Honda, the warranty is the same 3 years. Dont get me wrong I have had Yamaha products in the past and no problems, and no problems with my Honda products either.I just have a problem with the price being more and getting a smaller engine. The one thing you did say and is a good feature is the gas guage witch the Honda dosnt have, dont know about the oil changes as I havent done one yet, and yes they do run quiet witch ever model you buy. But mine is red.
