Chris, That was very kind of you , :D  Thank You. I'll update my album picture with your editing. I need to get a digital photo of it sometime since it would look more like the prints I have. Danny

That crown molding is a nice touch not normally seen in teardrops. Looks really great..........but hey, your a furniture maker, what else would I expect? :applause:  :applause:

Yep Danny Halfdome,

That's coming along nice... The wire raceway in the crown molding is a good idea... Beats looking at bare wire..

It looks like you've planned for all the comforts of home... nice job staining and polyurethaning too!

Mike...

P.S. Did you cut out the trim in front of the TV yourself?
The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...

I need a different button for how great these tears are.
AND I am so not gonna get mine finished if I try to do anything near that.

I guess I could take pictures of something else huh.

Thanks guys, :D :D Mike there is one more picture between them but It wouldn't display. The valance was not my work the lumber yard had a pile of them a couple years ago for real cheap. The raceway/molding wasn't my idea I read it somewhere in one of these threads as an idea so I went for it. It was a natural thing to finish it off with some crown molding that I had on hand. I think it adds a nice touch without compromising the integrity of the roof spars and makes access to your wires as easy as unscrewing a beauty screw. If I were to build another teardrop I would wire it the same way again. The finish is 4 coats of self sealing white water precatalyzed lacquer over a lacquer based stain. Danny

Thanks Scott, :) Here is the photo that wouldn't display. It's an idea I picked up when shopping at the Van Factory. I haven't purchased my tear battery yet so I used a 14.4 volt cordless drill battery to test my lights and circuits. All you need is the battery, 4 aligator clips (Roach Clips to some) and two wires. I'm able to run all 8 bulbs on that one little battery. Danny

Danny, That is a good idea to pass on. I did the same thing with my old 12v drill battery. After every thing was in and I just had the wires hanging in the galley I tested each circuit. Works great.

The old drill battery trick, I'm very familiar with it. When I used to install stereo, we also used to check the polarity (or phase) of the speakers. We also used it to check various items that were being installed, door lock actuators, sirens, etc. It really sucks when you install something only to find out later that it was defective to begin with.

Getting closer now, just finished the latches and locks on the matching tongue box tonight. Picked up my trip permit today for the scales and WSP inspection on the 18th. There are 4 compartments total. A door on each end, ( one for porta pottie) the lid area and the battery compartment accessed through a hatch in the lidded area. I have two 1" round aluminum vents for venting battery gasses on the back. There is a 1/2" gap on the box where it meets the tear and is open at the bottom. It is something how many hours you can sink into one of these custom tongue boxes but it's worth it. Danny
