Someone I work with brung this to me

Postby kzhorse » Sat Jun 02, 2012 10:13 am

I was showing the old 243a to someone at work and another guy tells me he has some and brought this in on Thursday and gave it to me 1960 and a little rough but it burns good after a total brake down and cleaning had to paint the burner frame all the plating was gone and rusty as Heck......Best part is he tells me he has 2 or 3 more lanterns and a couple stoves that were left in the house he just bought should get them Monday...... 8)

All anyone needs to do is put the word out....there are lots of people that no longer want them and don't know what to do with them other than throw them away. Nice save. Doug

I guess it's time to put a Coleman sticker on the truck.. Now if I drove it, someone might actually see it!!

Carrying a lantern around at work won't do, and I don't have a desk job. Gotta think about this "getting the word out" thing. I imagine there are lanterns in every other garage just waiting to be caught!

The Big hat looks like a 228 D to me. It has 2 little screws holding the pump in.
But what a nice hall.

Looks like the 220s are the H model or later. Those stoves are real work horses.
